the analogue aiming really is trash
after getting used to the motion controls, they definitely work better, if only because of how bad the sticks control. but to call them accurate in any way... no, I don't feel it. It's strange though, I mean *cough* however, the gyro aiming in BOTW feels fucking perfect. I wish it was that accurate. The system is clearly capable of it.

Ugh, Dunkey has been on the decline lately. He needs to focus more on the antics than on badly researched hot takes, he couldn't even make the easy Knack 2 jokes funny.

I lost it at the, my wife left me.

Never played splatoon 2 but this was 10x better than his last video. His last video was probably one of my least favorite videos ever and I've been following him for at least 5 years?

As someone who's played both, I can tell you that you're wrong. But that's my opinion.

There's way too much screen tilt to make it viable on the default.
I like to see the game i'm playing with no issue.

They are still factually superior, if you don't want to have to tilt your screen too much just increase the sensitivity. And the game allows for separare sensitivity settings for docked/tabletop and handheld

Also today I had to play dockless in my gf's place and what I did was play in tabletop mode with my pro controller. That's not always an option of course

I didn't know the settings here could fix that though.

Next time try to check the control options of a game before complaining about the controls lol

he is spot on, splatoon isn't even good.

weren't you in the intro splatfest thread talking about how you weren't going to get it because you decided that you weren't good at it and/or weren't having fun at the time

seems like not liking one game mode in the beta wouldn't grant the power to ultimately say that the game wholly isn't any good!

Oh. I just rotate and follow the screen around. I like it but I'm sure it's not for everyone. I don't see that much of a screen tilt though at all. I still don't agree with your first post though.

It keeps me awake since sometimes I fall asleep when I'm playing on handhelds and I'm alone. The music also helps a lot.

Motion controls are the reason I enjoy Splatoon 1/2 so much. Analog/stick controls always felt too sticky and imprecise for me, hence why I never played many shooters.

I feel weird normally I'm a champion of motion controls and I loved shooters on wii, but tilt/gyro for aiming has always messed with my brain. I'm sure if I practiced it I would get a lot better but for my casual splatoon play I don't find much use for it. I also mainly use rollers so :V

I really really want to like splat2n because I want to buy new games for my switch. But any kind of game that requires aiming just plain sucks with analog sticks (with gyro controls, you still need to control one axis with the stick). I'd gladly play it with keyboard & mouse in docked mode though.
donkey is still gold in my book, the jontron controversy aside.

Funny story! After playing some time on Splatoon 2 with motion controls on, I decide to play some Overwatch to get the rest of the weekly loot boxes. First thing I do once I'm playing against people? I try to look around by tilting the PS4 controller around. Got really confused as to why it wasn't working when it hit me later once I died.

I sensibly chuckled to myself.

I kind of see where Dunkey is coming from. Is Splatoon 2 fun? Sure. Is it a great game? That is debatable. Splatoon is fun in short bursts and that is about it.

I mean... He shows that he is not bad at the game at all...

I didn't see that part. I saw a short snippet of footage where he splats a couple of people, three of those splats during Turf Wars matches where dude inked less than 400 with 45 seconds less to go. I'm not sure my takeaway from that should be "dude's not bad at all"

Usually like dinkey's videos but the Splatoon one is very superficial in his critiques. Most of his arguments can be dismissed if he just plays the game a little more. The only strong negative about the game is the lack of online functionality and he barely mentions it.

I think he’s wrong about a lot of what he says about Splatoon 2, but the game still has serious issues - especially if you like playing with friends.

Why can’t I party in regular battles? I can join on friends, yes, but it’s a crapshoot if we’ll actually, you know, play together.

Why can’t I play with friends at all in ranked? And no, the league battles are not an acceptable answer for this.

When's the last time he played a console shooter? How's it fair to spend such a large chunk of time criticizing the game because it's not on PC?

I've been following dunkey for a while now and I don't remember the last time he ever made a vid on a shooter, besides a mention that he enjoyed CoD MW 3's multiplayer back in the day

Wait he did play uncharted 4 if that counts

Knack part was kinda funny.

Never played Spatoon so I can't comment on it being ass or not.

But it doesn't look very fun, or at least it doesn't look like a game I would have any fun playing.

I agree with the nintendo switch online chat thing being extremely crappy. That whole implementation is a whole other mess.

And there are still a number of changes that splatoon 2 should've made from splatoon ie changing loadouts, how maps are restricted and not to mention how salmon run is time gated.

But overall I disagree with his main takeaway of the game being not that good. Its still an amazing game to play.

Wow. Been playing the traditional way for 15h+ since release (same as Splatoon 1, never used motion). After watching this vid I went into training mode and messed around with the motion control settings and tried imitating the guy. He's absolutely right. I feel like I'm snapping on to enemies much quicker. Have both motiom and R stick sensitivity cranked to max, feels so smooth.

Guess I hated the motion controls because I always tested them out in PvP, instead of taking my time to adapt in a quiet environment first. Thanks!
