True, but I was thinking do we think it could reach or even surppass the original.Yes? Its a proven formula and it doesn't have to sell Switch numbers to be success.
Even SweetTooth agreeYes. It’s a proven formula and it doesn't have to sell Switch numbers to be success.
No you said "sucess".True, but I was thinking do we think it could reach or even surppass the original.
Define failure...define success
Yeah, Nintendo don’t do any spreading out bs like the other two, if you want to play the next big Nintendo game you’ll need a Switch 2 and that means it’ll sell like crazy.Quite sure. Nintendo have their software and thats what matter in the end.
Same could be said about 3DS which “only” sold 50% of the DS. I’ve seen plenty of arguments over the years that it was a failure due to that drop-off, despite it obviously making Nintendo loads of money.definitely , the BC with the original switch guarantees that.
No. It will still do 100+ but instead of 150M, probably 110m.True, but I was thinking do we think it could reach or even surppass the original.
Eh the software didn't help GameCube or WiiU.Quite sure. Nintendo have their software and thats what matter in the end.
I think we are splitting hairs...No you said "sucess".
This is a different discusion if it will reach or surpass. Those would both mean sucess.
I do not think we are comparing apples with apples here.... could be wrong.Same could be said about 3DS which “only” sold 50% of the DS. I’ve seen plenty of arguments over the years that it was a failure due to that drop-off, despite it obviously making Nintendo loads of money.
Pretty big loyal fan base so it will surely succeed.

that right there is successSame could be said about 3DS which “only” sold 50% of the DS. I’ve seen plenty of arguments over the years that it was a failure due to that drop-off, despite it obviously making Nintendo loads of money.
Ohh you tease...the original post
I agree. But loosing 50% of your customer base isn’t. Which is why it’s important do define what kind of success we mean.that right there is success
So we are here again and who could ever forget the epic original Switch thread of the same name. Have fun people, and no biting.
I don't see how Microsoft will make any dent. All their games will be coming to switch 2. They have almost no brand presence globally anymore. It's gonna be super niche. Will it be a success? Yes, absolutely. Will it sell the same number of units as the OG Switch? No, not at all. Maybe 100 million sold lifetime, depending on how much of a dent Sony and Microsoft make in the handheld market and how soon they release something in that space.
they're popular on PC obv, but they're also very popular on switch 1.I'm guess they'll sell enough to be happy about but over the long term do the youth still love Nintendo? I'm out of the loop here. I know Minecraft, Fortnite etc are really popular with them.
