Will The Nintendo Switch 2 Be A Success.

Yes. IMO easily a 100M+ seller and shouldn't be expected to match the switch 2. I think Nintendo will go with a higher price strategy like Sony/Apple do. They'll sacrifice some sales for profit.

Too soon to tell. For one thing, Nintendo was smart to name it Switch 2, and not Switch U or Switchaboo or whatnot, in order to not confuse the customers and making them think it was just an alt version of the same console.

Of course it’ll be!

I said no to the Switch and that backfired spectacularly.

I want to say the successor will be a smash success, but will I jinx it? I'm terrified to say anything.

It will kill it
I remember my friend swearing up and down that the Switch would be the last console Nintendo ever made, and he bet me $100 before it launched.

Well, looks like I earned 100 bucks today lol.

Though we haven’t really spoken in like 5 plus years. Last I heard, they were a huge furry and also maybe doing elder abuse? Anyway…

Yes, but i dont think its gonna do the same numbers as the base switch.

Not at first anyway, I’m kinda intrigued by the possibility of a Lite 2

I think we need to class this one under the tagline.... More information than we actually needed. ;)

A new version of the lite sounds pretty awesome, I never bought a Switch lite.
I enjoyed mine for the smaller form factor, but ive been far too spoiled by the oled to go back

Working in retail, most people buying them have generally either been peeps in their early 20’s that couldnt afford the full model and just wanted to play a specific game or adults buying one or two for their kids

At this point a new Mario hart has to be looking at 60 million copies or so. So will the new one be a Switch 2 exclusive, that's the million dollar question.

Not successful enough for nintendo to be really happy with numbers wise, but successful enough.
I reckon 55-75 million lifetime max, the hardware just looks too familiar for the casuals to rush and buy this . I know its a secondary console for many but price and games will have to be incredible.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
It has zero competition in the handheld space and is a different market to the home consoles, if it's not a success....that would be a cause for concern.

It's Nintendo, so yes. They'll sell the next platoon, Zelda, mainline Mario #57, Mario party, kart, the next animal crossing, next super smash, etc. Just rehashing the same things they've been doing for decades and the kids will eat it up and the parents will buy it for them.

Financial success? yes
In market share? no

The only way they could have outperformed Switch sales was to have pushed the hardware with higher specs, but they cheaped out instead.

The mass marked does not care about power or specs. Based on this the original Switch should have bombed.

Just on a somewhat separate note they should have called the system: Super Switch Entertainment System...(big missed opportunity) but then again, I suppose they wanted to make it clear that this was a break-away console, and not a Switch Pro..

Pretty sure it won't surpass the first Switch. Price is also a different story this time around. If they don't bring the goods in the creative new software department, average Jane and Joe won't see a reason to upgrade. If there's also cross gen titles (which I don't expect), that effect will become even greater. Assuming the first party output is actually fresh and as good as last gen, I'd expect maybe around 100M lifetime sales. If the price is 500 or higher, plus the software doesn't convince your coworkers who never follow gaming news, then we'll see another Wii U situation but on a higher level, maybe 30-50M in sales.

If the switch 2 is at least as powerful as a PS4 with a better online infrastructure and a consistent stream of first and 3rd party games. I think it has the potential to become the best selling console out of the big 3 again. Especially if Sony has a terrible first party output for the PS6 like they do with the PS5.
For Sony it’s going to be really really hard to catch the Switch 2, for Xbox 0%.The Switch 2 is going to be the best selling console in their generation.
