I like that you can switch between male or female main character in the game options and the game will then respect your option during the cutscenes. Kinda weird that Hoyo messed this up on ZZZ and still locks the cutcens to the character you picked when starting the game for the 1st time.

You can now, because up until this update you couldn't.

Better late than ever thought, so it's pretty cool yeah.

I hate the double MC thing. It breaks any immersion and the mute MC looks retarded.

Only ZZZ does it right because these characters are voiced and are given distinct personalities. Unless it's a RPG like Dark Souls or BG3, I rather play as someone with a proper story arc.

I've never really paid attention to this, to be honest, I don't take Gatcha games that seriously - short-term entertainment nothing more. But from funny facts - in Genshin the main character Girl has more DPS than the boy because of the difference in animations, now live with this information. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

AAA gachas have a very well-thought lore and many great characters, that's why it's a shame than most MCs are self-inserts, like in the Persona saga. One of the reasons why I loved Destiny Child (Shift Up's first game) is that the MC has an actual personality, he's funny and relatable. Nikke has a very good story, but the mute character looks out of place.

All you need to know and understand about Gatcha games is that they exist exactly until the moment when the company is satisfied with the profits they bring. After that, the servers are turned off and the game disappears forever and you can never play it again. Therefore pull the characters you like, play as you want, have fun while the game servers are working. The life cycle of these games is not endless.

Still missing good echos for Carlotta, but god damn her gun combat feels so satisfying.

Also, jfc, these skyboxes in Rinascita are so fucking gorgeous that I just had to stop and take some pictures, lol.

Very impressed with Rinascita so far.

Yes, they really made a new location that stands out in terms of design, against the background of all the others. And I generally like the diversity of the region, fields, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, mountains, forests, very diverse topography.
Carlotta - I also liked her, probably the best single target DPS in the game, of course there are problems with AoE and rather long cooldowns, but the damage to one target is very good. Considering that they constantly add bosses to the open world that need to be beaten actually 1 on 1 and AoE is not particularly needed there, there will be a demanded for this character to kill bosses.

Are there quests that can be ignored? I just did a turtle boss quest where the banter took like 30 minutes and the fight itself took 30 seconds....

Do you mean the quests that move the story forward? They are marked in gold, blue are the side quests that can be done at any time.

That's the most boring side quest I've ever done in this game so far. I just skipped all the convo by pressing LB/L1 all the time because I just couldn't deal with all that cringe.

In my opinion ZZZ does it the worst way cuz in ZZZ they use dual main characters that are always present in the game, but lock the player to control and see only one in cutscenes while the other is still in the game. For example, if you pick Belle when you start the game and then choose to control Wise, the game still acts like you are controling Belle cuz you can only enter Belle bedroom, and all cutsces will feauture Belle and not Wise.

WuWA MCs are voiced btw, and they talk in rare cutscenes and during exploration but for some reason most of the time they are mute. So its also a mess. But at least they got the cutscenes right by showing the correct character if you decide to switch.

I agree that most times mute characters feel off when you see them and they are the only ones not talking but i disagree with you about Nikke MC, or "The Commander", cuz hes suposed to be the player, you never see the character and hes not suposed to have a defined personality because thers player choices for replies and everyone talks to the the player in POV. Having the MC have a voice would be worse in this case.

Do you have to grind at some point to progress in the story?
I haven't felt once that I needed to grind. Most of my playtime was exploring the open world, doing dailies and weeklies, and main story. I think I did just 4-5 side quests by the time I finished with the main story up to version 1.4 and also just one of the multiple exploration quests you unlock in the game.

Nice chuuni male Rover mod:
Be careful with mods, they are against TOS. For this you can get an account ban, if you post screenshots with mods, make sure that the UID is not shown. Or erase it via Paint, this also applies to miHoYo games. Editing client files is prohibited.
There is no official mod support from the developers in these games yet, and it is unlikely that there will be any since they earn their living money by selling costumes for characters. :messenger_grinning:

Daaaaaamn, Carlotta is so much more fun to play, I honestly didn't expected that. Got her at 75/25 and her weapons in just 5 pulls ( :messenger_open_mouth: :messenger_face_screaming::messenger_horns:). I also like her design much more now after seeing what she can do in the game and all her cool moves, special and ult:messenger_smiling_hearts:

Played for about 5 hrs mostly just exploring the world, finding stuff, doing some side content and such. I honestly am not a fan of side quests, maybe they'll be better later but for now I'm just skipping all the dialogue (of which there's a shit ton) to get through them faster and get to the good stuff. I mean, it's just basic MMO bs anyway (with a few exceptions), so I'm not missing much. Haven't touched the story yet beyond what I've played the first time around (will do that tomorrow and complete as much as I can). As for the other stuff, I think I need to watch a few videos on YT for some tips and stuff, cuz there's a lot of shit here and like I'm sure that 90% of it is complete trash I and must not waste any money or mats on it. Exploration is good though, very relaxing and enjoyable, don't like to fight the same enemies over and over again though, but thankfully you can avoid everything if you don't want to waste your time:messenger_relieved:

Decided to wrap a bunch of sidequests and stuff before jumping into Rinascita, knocked out Encore's character story quest which I had been putting off. Damn, right in the feels. The character quests are by far the best part of WuWa (that I've seen so far at least). I hope the 2.0 main story is up to the same level or better.

Playing with Immersive Mode on is pretty cool. It's making me notice lots of interesting bits about the characters that I never noticed with the UI on. For instance, Carlotta's hair turns to ice when her meter is full, so you know to use the heavy attack when you see it. Also the visual damage that they just added when your characters fall to low health. It's not much, but they all get little bruises/cuts/rips in their outfits.

It's a real shame you can't hide the little "turn UI on" icon though. Probably they didn't want to deal with dumbasses turning it off and not being able to figure out turning it back on, though. Then they uninstall and leave a 1 star review.

The game is far too talkative for me. I try to play a bit more, but it's almost unbearable. And I already started skipping dialog and even then it feels like an eternity.

Yes, that's the first thing that came to my mind. Whoever in the voice acting team came up with this brilliant idea should be fired. To miss the character so much, damn, you have to try hard.

Yeah, her voice acting is not the best, specially if you consider she was one the hypest characters when they showed what would come with 2.0.

I play the game in english actually, and while I do agree about Zani, I also gotta say that there are also quite a number of characters whose VA sounds great in english.

Jiyan, Changli, Xiangli Yao, Yinlin, Shorekeeper, all come to mind.

Specially Changli. That character is peak. The devs are gonna have a difficult time peaking that one.

I've been watching anime and playing Japanese games in Japanese my whole life, 40+. My brain basically doesn't accept anime characters speaking English anymore, it's so ingrained in my subcortex. If a game has an option to turn on Japanese voice acting, I always do it automatically. :messenger_grinning:

Been doing a bit of main quest and Zani kind of grew on me.

Hope she turns out to be good.

Also digged Brant (male Beidou basically) and Fulmine (thought his design was original). He has the look of a 4-star thought.

Carlota on the other hand...not a fan.

I've never played Gatcha games with English voice acting, only Japanese sound. I decided to go to YouTube to listen. Wow...it's a good thing I never play with English voice acting. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

On the other hand Carlotta's VA is Jennifer English (Shadowheart from BG3) and IMO she did a great job (I'm almost at the end of the main Rinascita storyline and I enjoyed her performance so far).

Downloaded this and played a bit today on PS5, fairly fun so far. The traversal on the map is a lot more smooth and fast then Genshin. I wonder if there’s enough time to get the ice gun girl before the banner ends .
I would also like the vine /hanging girl, I saw my gf using her recently.

I've managed to get Camellya (the vine girl) as a new player last month in about 10 days of pretty hardcore play (her banner lasted another week or so after managing to pull her).

So I've lost my 50/50 to Encore after just 20 pulls, lol, but then I managed to snag Camellya after about 65 more pulls, so I'm really happy with that outcome. ^^

I'll see if I can get her weapon too, since I know it's pretty OP for her.

You get a lot of pulls as a F2P just with the newly added version 2.0 content, and when you add all the stuff from previous patches you'll be golden. The only issue is the time investment IMO. If you go hard with the open world exploration, events and the more rewarding quests, you'll probably get like 1.5k - 2k pull currency per day.

TLDR; ~56 Pulls + Free Skin, Other Rewards (Handouts + Version Events Only)

Doesn't include new region exploration, other permanent content, shop/regular refreshes, etc. Conservative estimated totals come out to around ~150+ pulls F2P.

Yes, she has a nice voice. I usually have problems with English voice acting when they either don't match the character's voice at all, or the character's voice doesn't match the character's age or appearance very well. But in general, for me it has always been a good indication of the work done, when the voice acting in another language, let's say, comes as close as possible to the original voice acting in sound. Because for this you really need to bother with the selection of actors and select them so that the timbre of the voice and intonation sound very similar, since the creators of the game know how they want their character to sound and how they see it, and naturally the game is first voiced in the developer's native language, and then in all the others, in the case of Kuro it is Chinese.

Man, the story in the game is so unbelievably bad, terrible and boring that begs the question how the fuck it even passed the QA (if it was a thing to begin with)? Got to the point where I need to go to the hidden library just now, how many more hours of this BS I need to survive before it gets good (if ever)?

They released the game earlier because of ZZZ launch. I'm still waiting for the time when the story gets better. But the companion quests, at least the one I did, is much better here than in ZZZ.

1.0 story was rushed from remaking the game due to negative feedback from Chinese players. Kuro has talked about redeveloping it, but no time frame on that yet.

Oh, I also recommend the quest of the little forest people from the Dendro location in Genshin (I don't even remember their names, my brain, as a defense mechanism, simply erased them from my memory), it lasts 3-4 hours. And this is not WuWa, in Genshin you can't skip dialogues. If at the end of this quest you don't want to jump out of the window or shoot yourself, you're a hero... :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Welp this fight didn’t go as expected in immersive mode, but at least the landing looked cool. 😅
Oh yeah, I've already flown off cliffs quite a bit, because I like to play either Jinhsi or Changli, and they have a lot of moves when they start flying, and it's quite easy to fly away like that. I also especially want to say hello to the developer who made the fight with the level 120 lvl boss, this musketeer, if I remember correctly, on the right side of the map at the top of the mountain. The fact that you start a fight with him 1 on 1, and then he's like - "Somehow boring", just out of thin air gives birth to another one of the same 120 lvl clone and now you're fighting 2 on 1, I just wanted to stand up and clap. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

How is it possible that the photo mode sucks this much?? No options at all!!! And I thought Mihoyo's was terrible...

I liked the train dreamworld, a good change of pace, and very painful to realize how good banner characters are compared to the F2P ones.

If you mean a regular banner, this is a common situation with all gacha games, after some time all characters from a regular banner lose their relevance. If we take now, the best characters from a regular banner are Encore, if you make a fire team with Changli, she shows itself very well. And of course Verina - excellent healing, buffs, rotation, the best support for quick swap teams (Shorekeeper does not really like when characters change quickly, she likes when they are in the field longer).

Since Carlotta is a gun wilder, why doesn't she have a shooting aim mode like Mortefi, Chixia or Aalto?

I know aim mode is kind of shit in this game, and we have the aim droid for puzzles, but still it doesn't make much sense to me.

Because, I forgot since which update they added the new gadget Hoverdroid - Shooter, people complained that for puzzles you either have to switch to other characters or constantly change the group (Not every team needs Mortefi, Chixia or Aalto). Now thanks to this Gadget, any character in the game can shoot and aim regardless of whether he has a firearm or not, normal shooting mode is no longer needed.

I know they added the hoverdroid, but my point is since she is a gun user character, she should have aim mode in my opinion, just like the others.

Not deal breaking but feels odd.
