Wuthering Waves |OT| - Devil May Impact

Lost my first ever gold 50/50 to Verena (green healer girl) and then selected her with my ticket to get her to constellation? 1 (not sure what they are called in this game.) I hear she’s the only worthwhile character on standard so why not?

I also heard that it’s a good idea to just throw blue wishes into the weapon banner and forget about the standard 5* as you will collect them form lost 50/50s over time.

Using Female MC, Sanhua, Vernea, exclusively so far and just using the auto equip feature for echos. Been easy going so far. Melting everything and I barely know what I am doing.

Really hoping I can get Ice gun girl before the banner ends.

It's not all that clear on a regular banner.
Verina - recommended because it immediately gives you access to a top support, which can be in any group.
Encore - also a very good DPS, especially if you want to make a link with Changli for a fire team.
Calcharo - the only reason don't recommend him is because the character is incredibly difficult, especially for new players and those with no experience. + Yao was given away for free, which really hurt him, since he is much simpler.
Jianxin - Victim of Verina and then Shorekeeper came out, too much competition
Lingyang - Well, this is really the weakest character of the regular banner, he has a very strange and awkward fighting style, which hurts him a lot.
I also heard that it’s a good idea to just throw blue wishes into the weapon banner and forget about the standard 5* as you will collect them form lost 50/50s over time.
That's right, I only spin the weapon banner and they are very good, all of them. I've never spin the character banner, because anyway you'll lose 50/50 from time to time and they'll drop for you. But a 5-star weapon, and a good one at that, will make your group much stronger.

Also the PS5 launch, which is what I had been waiting for. My laptop is tight on space and I don’t like using it for games unless I have to.
Also waiting has given me more content to go through so I won’t have to wait as long without anything to do in game.

IMO you should have chosen a different character for your ticket like Encore or Jiaxin. You can buy cons for already unlocked standard 5* from the shop any time and for limited characters during their run using currency obtained during pulls.

Everyone sleeps on Jainxin, but I think she's fantastic, especially for characters that need long chains without being interrupted. Her shield is beefy, the only downside being that it takes too long to deploy. I read that at higher constellations or resonances or whatever, the time to deploy her shield is dramatically reduced, so I can't wait to get that someday.

But she's pretty great. She has a suction move that gathers small to middle size enemies, she has a fully invincible counter (that can be quickswapped), she has a beefy if slow shield, healing, and respectable damage if you build her as a subdps. In a lot of other games, she would be busted, but with WuWa having perfect dodges with i-frames, it kinda negates the need for a shield in most content. I look forward to maxing her out someday after I'm done with my primary characters.

Her problem is that she tries to play all roles, a little DPS, a little Support, a little Healer, a little Buffer, and in the end, despite being torn apart by so many roles at once, she is very average in all of them, or what people call - jack of all trades, master of none. The game is very focused on changing characters and rotation, and such universality in everything is very detrimental to it. Since you usually want 3 characters in a group, and each of them should give their maximum in each of the positions.

This does not mean that she is bad or unplayable, she is absolutely playable and easy to play. It's just that as it usually happens with such universal characters who try to play all roles at once, the more experienced the player becomes, the more he looks for opportunities to increase the potential of his group (DPS), and she does not give such an opportunity.

Are there any leaks about 2.1 characters? I think in 2 weeks I'll have plenty of currency (currently saved 30 pulls) and I don't wanna pull the current support character cuz I'm 100% F2P and I doubt that I'll gather enough for 50/50 and then 100% if needed in 2.1.

The beta hasn't started yet, so nobody knows for sure, but based on the promo material I'd take a good guess that it's gonna be Brant/Phoebe with Zani being a 4* on one of their banners, most likely on Brant's since that's how they do male banners.

Thick Thighs Save Lives Thick Thighs Save Lives M Mayar I get how the whole leveling and stuff works now, how to get mats for character / weapon rank ups and all that. Lvld up my team to 50 incl. weapons and combat is much faster now. Can't say I like creature collecting thing and that you have to match rarities as well to activate buffs - why? It complicates things way more than it needs to be. In ZZZ it doesn't matter which rarity you have and can easily activate buffs.

Wait, wait, Zani is a 4 star? I thought she's a 5*. I might try to get her in that case.

Since they added a bunch of new Echo, there is a suspicion that I will have to update the builds for some characters.
The new sets seem mostly aimed at new characters to me, youll want to just get the nightmare 4 slot ones as replacements for most of the old characters.

Carlotta definitely wants the new set.

Shes supposed to be in 2.3 at the earliest according to the leaks, which is quite far, no word on 4/5 star, but i think shell be a 5* since shes supposed to have a banner.

She's definitely strong but she's also my biggest regret, pulls wise. I got her and her weapon and I hate using her. She's probably good for my account but the gameplay is :pie_disappointed:. I recommend putting some time in her demo before deciding. Nobody really knows yet how strong Phoebe/Brant will be.

I'm just going by the leaks I read a while ago. That said, Kuro probably wasn't ready for her to be the most popular of the Rinascita crew, so they may be reworking her to make $$.

Oh, so it's a rerun then? I see. Well, sure, I'll check her demo before pulling.

P.S. Zani simply does not look like an A rank character to me.

Phoebe and Roccia both look more like 4 stars and they got the 5 stars treatment.

One thing is for sure, game needs more 4 stars.

Any tips on how to get a decent starting 4 star sword for the main protagonist or other sword users? Is there a mission where I can get one? So far, my luck has been limited in the Gacha, and I'm trying not to put resources into weapons I'm not going to be using for long. Any suggestions?

Here's a new redeem code: WUWA4PC
  • x50 Astrite
  • 20,000 Shell Credits
People are saying it's a PC only code, btw.

Edit: I can confirm it only works if you've never linked your kuro account with your PSN and/or mobile.

My first decent 4 star weapon was the commando of conviction sword which I got from the paid track of the battle pass. :messenger_grinning_sweat: There's also those craftable 4 star weapons, but I'm not sure how good they are tbh so I didn't bother with them.

Rest of the 4 star weapons I've gotten were from banner pulls.

There was a somnium anchor event one, but it looks like it may have expired now. You can get them from character banners btw, most common way for me.

Check your bag if you have some selectors already, there are at least 2 4* weapon ones (one on the new map in Elga Town) and the other one from Shilang in Tigers Maw (NPC is tied to a Tigers Maw exploration - green questline) they require some materials to buy. You can also craft one, probably the most time consuming option, dont.

Once youre union level 45 you get a regular 5* weapon selector, they have crit rate so theyre great.

This is an old image, not sure if new player stuff gives out anything additional, but you get a selector for completing one of the quests and buying it with ore you can farm from the area, if you're staunch F2P. The 3* weapons, I wouldn't bother investing in past level 40 or so. You won't use those long term.

You can also craft 4* weapons that are middling, but nice holdovers. You'll get the materials to make them from farming specific ore per weapon and getting drops from the "weekly" bosses (you can only fight them 3x a week total). you can see those at the blacksmith table near the restaurant area in Jinzhou.

I'm already changing my Zhezhi into Empyrean Anthem via Hecate
2 Set: Energy Regen +10%.
5 Set: Increase the Resonator's Coordinated Attack DMG by 80%. Upon a critical hit of Coordinated Attack, increase the active Resonator's ATK by 20% for 4s.
It's a matter of taste and most likely it will take more than a week before all the tests are done, so for now I'm sitting and waiting.

I am also slowly changing 4 to Nightmare version from 2.0 for some characters.
Jiyan - Nightmare: Feilian Beringal
Yinlin - Nightmare: Tempest Mephis - It looks extremely interesting on her.

The main DPS swords (4 stars) fall from banners, here it also really depends on what element of the main character we are talking about. I would just wait until something falls from the banner, simply because if I remember... but I could be wrong they have long ago made it so that if the main character is used in story quests if he is low level they automatically give him 80 and a weapon for the quest. Therefore there is no urgency in this.

I have no idea what the new sets do.

Does anyone have a guide for which characters do they fit?

My most used 5 stars are Changli, Xiangli Yao, Jiyan, Yinlin and Verina and I haven't touch their sets at all since building them.

At the time I built them, I gave them the best in slot set for each case.

I don't recommend to farm new sets yet, wait until the tests are over, there may be bugs, changes with patches, etc. I just have all my characters equipped, and I need to burn energy somewhere, so I can do this for me it's 0 loss, plus I like to experiment myself. Anyone who just plays or just started playing has where to spend energy with much more benefit than testing new sets.

Changli - Molten Rift + Inferno Rider (Nightmare)
Yao - Void Thunder + Thundering Mephis (Nightmare)
Jiyan - Sierra Gale + Feilian Beringal (Nightmare)
Yinlin - wait until the end of the test, there is a chance that the new set from 2.0 gives a 30-35% increase, Empyrean Anthem (This is new set) + Tempest Mephis (Nightmare)
Verina - Rejuvenating Glow + Bell-Borne Geochelone or Fallacy of No Return (Whose effect do you like more)

All 4 that I wrote have Nightmare versions, so there is a possibility that they will have to be changed, but their tests are still ongoing, there is no final result yet.
P.S. - It is better to dress according to the 4-3-3-1-1 pattern, although it is more difficult because of the 3.

Started Zhezhi quest and I already want to pull her. She's basically WuWa's version of ZZZ's Corin, shy and all that. I like how they're doing conversations during the character's quest a lot, this is how it should be done in ZZZ as well instead of basically the same stuff over and over, same poses, expressions and basic visual novel stuff with slight twists based on the character's personality etc. (not to mention video store stuff which all + - the same, happens at the same time for everyone at certain trust levels). It is clear as day that WuWa devs understand how character quests really should look and be like, you can even get character interactions, recall of past events and such with great expansions and just overall show of emotions and great camera work as well. Like, how is it possible for a game of a lower caliber to be way better at it? And I don't mean big story quests like Jane one for example or recent Sections 6 with Yanagi, I'm talking about trust stuff and QT as well. I can't wait to see what other character quest are like in WuWa.

2nd attempt to capture a video of Camellya suspended on her vines, with the Nier inspired music playing in the background. I made it ultra wide because I had to crop some parts from the bottom and top of the captured video.

Btw, Danjin44 Danjin44 does this music reminds you of some other game? 👀

Or make a game that’s no F2P gatcha game? Shift Up made one and so can they.
Well, maybe when Kuro gains experience, they will, for them this is only the second game. Shift Up made a full-fledged game after three gatcha games, so everything is still ahead. They are not that rich yet. I don’t remember the percentage exactly, but they made a deal with Tencent (they own 30% or 40% of the company’s shares now), and they received huge investments from them, and then they entered the market. AAA games on the market don’t just appear out of thin air, they usually cost a lot of money. Tencent currently owns only 15% of Kuro's shares, and they haven't given them that kind of money yet. :messenger_grinning:

In principle it will work if you play through quick swap.

But honestly, you have a much better option.
Rover (Havoc) + Sanhua + Verina - Also played through fast character rotation
Encore + Sanhua + Verina - Works even better because Sanhua buffs normal attack damage when rotating, increasing damage of Encore.

Silversnow - The next character (or other characters on a nearby team that activates an Outro Skill) gains 38% Basic Attack DMG Deepen for 14s, or until the character is switched off field.

When Encore activates her ult, she transforms into her second form.

Basic Attack: Cosmos: Frolicking
During Cosmos Rampage, the Basic Attack is replaced with Cosmos: Frolicking, which performs up to 4 consecutive attacks, dealing Fusion DMG, considered as Basic Attack damage.
Cosmos: Dodge Counter
During Cosmos Rampage, use Basic Attack after a successful Dodge to attack the target, dealing Fusion DMG, considered as Basic Attack damage.

All of these attacks will be buffed by Sanhua's buff.
