Why are people mad about exclusives ? It's a basic strategy for consoles since Atari 2600. People Act like oif this is a new trending.

Without exclusives there won't be need or pressure for improvement. Exclusives sell consoles so are important for the gaming ecosystem thats is the reason all the companies have their batch of exclusives.

Why are DEI people all MS fanboys? Sony is doing as much for them, right? Isn't it better for them to go full onboard with both of them and go against the evil patriarcal conservative Nintendo

Its a very left leaning compamy attracting left leaning people.
Also left leaning people are far easier to brainwash or manipulate as they dont care to do their own research they just happy to be told what to do and what to believe.

Everything is about politics and lobbies in the gaming industry ever since it became the main go to activity for the youth.

I am just glad that like in everything else the silent majority is able to fight back with their wallet ans hopefully this crazy proggresive push will come to an end.

I actually didn’t know SH2 was console exclusive.

I was actually expecting to see Xbox peeps at the OT to show a shared love in SH2 because as I remember Maria’s dlc content was Xbox exclusive for a time meaning SH2 released on the Xbox as well.
If I'm not mistaken, Silent Hill 2 was announced as a console exclusive when the remake was officially shown.

I mean... if Xbox wanted it to be exclusive to them for a year they could have had it. They have far more financial reserves than Sony has.

But as a developer; why would I in my right mind put my game exclusive to Xbox when the install base is incredibly paltry compared to PlayStation?

I'm wondering whether it'd be even worth the development cost. Switch 2, PC & PS5 would be the way to go.

OP is quite pathetic because interesting and pathetic don't mean the same thing - Sadly tone doesn't carry over in text, which is what OP is missing.

But goodie, that was a good reason to construct a railway station for. That hate train had to ride today, photoshaming and all.

It saddens me that we aren't evolving from this.

DF Hands on segment for STALKER 2 from this weeks Direct.

- "Way more polished experience" than any previous show demos the game has had.
- DF played the game on Xbox.
- They say IQ is 'really really clean'.
- A single performance profile, the intro cut-scene was variable but most game play seemed like it was a decent 60.
- Controller sensitivity was 'way way high' and they had to make changes in the game settings.
- Load times were long.
- No motion blur in the demo.
- DF thinks this is running a later / newer version of the UE5 build with newer TSR iteration, hence the IQ looking as good as it did.
- TSR is 'far superior to FSR'
- DF are happy that unlike last year, this year their only complaints are controller sensitivity and load times, as it shows the game is ready to ship.

Not a single bullet point shows him calling it pathetic.

5 pages now so apparently gaf really loves this guy.
Lol he really does rustle jimmies, Gaf genuinely loathe him. He's an oddball but he's no more biased than most of the people with a problem with him tbh.

Exclusives are have always been there, but timed exclusives definitely peeve me more than permanent ones, only because they feel needless. An exclusive first party game I completely understand

Interesting and pathetic don't mean the same thing, isn't that the point? unless Alex finds Bethesda games becoming exclusive interestingly pathetic then I don't see what you're getting at.

As i read the OP, it reads like taking a shot at him.

But aside of that, the hatewatch is... interesting.

That makes them console games how???

It makes Witcher 3 a console game because when designed they had in mind to run it on a Jaguar. It's an example of how consoles have impacted the development of PC games (some argue, held it back from the gains of the past.)

People hate the DF guys because they're emblematic of a cancer impacting gaming journalism.

The very nature of their "job" is to be unbiased, yet they're extremely biased to the point where you can't generally trust what they say.

This has a real cost to it as it stains journalism across the board. Without gaming journalism, we have no real insight into our hobby.

We used to get previews of games, strategy guides, art books, e.t.c. It was just a fun time. Now we get biased coverage, embargos, and influencers.

The negativity we see in gaming now, stems greatly from the perversion of gaming journalism and the ultra reliance on paid shills/influencers.

There were always "console wars" but I don't recall people hoping games would fail. Everyone in industry was excited for the next Halo, Gran Turismo, or Mario game. Now companies do the bare minimum and just pay influencers to lie about games.

Look at the downfall of sports games. First, the leagues allowed exclusivity which killed competition and innovation, then we got the exact same game year in and year out with new rosters and broken half baked features. There are more feature complete sports games in the early 2000s than there are now. We used to get 3-4 new football games a year and if you didn't innovate and improve, you fell behind. Look at GameDay, but then we got NFL 2K to push Madden.

Gaming desperately needs a reset and it needs to start with honest journalism and guys like Alex aren't it.

Downgrades/parity don't change anything about beying or not a console game.

Sorry man. If you take Super Mario Bros and give it a facelift on Super Nintendo. It's still a NES game. Because it was made with all of the NES limitations and realities in mind. In its bones right down to the level design and physics. A game made from the ground up for SNES that does not have to work on NES creates more possibilities and freedom in design.

Sucks but true.

Then Witcher 3 is a Switch game by your logic.

Can’t wait for the news to say “Silent Hill 2 underperforms.” These exclusive deals don’t seem to workout lately.
