Similar overall score to Veilguard. And after that rant from that moron going off about chuds, this is an easy pass. I got Tomb Raider Remastered IV - VI this Friday, and Monster Hunter Wilds in a couple of weeks. Why would I waste my time with Elder Scrolls At Home?

I wish they made something like “fallout nuclear winter” or “elder scrolls akavir” instead of this. these guys for sure need to return to fallout

Given all the FUD lately, I'm going to say it's safe to assume that the scores are inflated. Happened with Indy as well.

Edit:

And no, I'm not saying these games are bad, just mediocre. Typical GP filler.
Wait you thought Indy was filler? Thought GAF loved it. Was excited for the pro release! :(

I haven't liked anything Obsidian have done for quite a while. I think only one of the top guys involved with Fallout New Vegas is still at Obsidian and he didn't work on Avowed.

Come on. Sales is not how you judge a game as filler. Anyway, sounds like you haven't played it so I'll take my question back.
I'm not talking sales when I said the games are filler. Xbox output quality is mediocre.
It shows in Avowed as well.

Edit:

But sales are a reflection of it as well.

Man, review scores are so useless.

Everything slightly high profile gets like a 8 or 9 out of 10.
Problem is fanboys love high scores, "It's the best gen ever so many 9 and 10's on my system". When really the scores should have been reduced leaving the 2 or 3 truly great games a gen to not be mired in the 6/7 rated crap that is inflated.

In the 90's Ign gave 2 whole games 10's. In the year 2020 alone they gave 7 games 10's.

I don't agree with a lot of their 10's but I especially don't agree with multi flawless as good as can be games in a year. You have to have higher standards than that or as you say, they are all useless.

yeah this one looks like a skip

This is a big part why I refunded. French reviewer I was anticipating went hard on Obsidian for that.

How do you go from Fallout New Vegas emergence to such a static AI/routine. AI seeing someone steal in front of them, how come games since late 90's could have a simple trigger and this doesn't.

I would like and prefer Bethesda engine jank than this if it meant a bit more emergence.

One of the few I still glance at. Always appreciate it when a creator can talk about a game and doesn't fall down some weird woke/anti-woke diatribe. Show me the game, and talk about the game. That's all I want.

I'm a good Christian boi

Seriously wtf. This is "the" reviewer peoples waited on? with ~40 subscribers and his KCD 2 criticism?

He's the one?

Time and time again we see that people really have some interesting tastes, lol.

Review scores should have never been put on this weird pedestal people put them on IMO. The way I've always looked at it, majority are positive? I'll check it out. Majority are bad? I'll probably avoid it. But if it's something I'm genuinely interested in I'll check it out regardless of what reviews say or what the numbers are. People put way too much power into them, and it's all subjective, lol.

That being said, it is really sad that time and time again we continue to see examples of modern game development pale compared to old game development. I feel bad for hardcore Obsidian fans, but I'm shocked if people are surprised. I thought Avowed looked pretty average and not really that compelling the first time we saw gameplay.

Because all those talented old guard, just like with Bioware, are now gone. You have the slacktivist "talent" pool to now contend with in the west.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
This is what I'm saying. This game was announced in 2020, with full Microsoft warchest backing, and it can't even match RPGs from 10+ years ago.
10 years? Try 30, I bet Ultima VI had better reactivity than Avowed.

People should demand more from these companies, the levels of complacency are off the charts.
