Yikes they really didnt give two shits about the console versions for this game. A 4060 should not be outperforming the ps5 to this extent in a game that is hardly a visual powerhouse. Its clear they prioritized pc and barely gave a shit about consoles.

It’s BioWare. They started as a PC developer.

You mean a 500$ GPU of 2024 shouldn’t outperform a 500$ whole system of 2020? Interesting take.

Maybe research the cards specs before doing a driveby.....The 4060 is weaker than a 3060ti and is 400$ just because nvidia has a chokehold on the market and is bleeding customers doesn't make the card much faster than consoles. It is about on par with the 6700 and in line with the ps5. These graphics cards should not be dunking on the ps5 by this margin if optimized properly especially since this is hardly a rt juggernaut like cyberpunk.

I’m comparing designs.

“Iconic.”
Default Sheppard design and companion designs were excellent. Certainly better vs saggy tits elf and whatever they turned qunarians into.

Also, how old is ME again? You are comparing it to this shitshow that is being released at the end of 2024.

Of course... of all the games to be optimized 🤣

There is a section of game development that i do feel sorry for, even the firewalk people and that's the people with the actual development talent. The people getting the engine optimization done, the people getting the coding done and the first person controller and so on.

Hopefully one day someone will make like a super studio, get all the ideologues and slacktavist DEI hires far away and smash out a game that's special.

Raster performance doesn’t matter that much when you can use IA to render at lower resolutions and still have better image quality than FSR. That’s why the 4060 has a chunk of its silicon dedicated to that.
The 4060 is $300. PS5 starts at $450.
You’re right. Still a more advance technology than the PS5. Allowing to make up for its lesser raster power.

Now that I’ve seen the console version of this video… nobody else saw the astonishing tearing that the 4060 has? It makes the Series X look stable as a rock.

Tin foil hat on.
Sony paid the developers to hamstring the PS5 version so that the PS5 Pro will look so much better that everyone will be running to Gamestop to trade up.
Tin foil hat off.

Drops to 500p in performance mode on PS5?

Looking at that RTX4060 DLSS shot I'd say its internal res is not performing any better at 60fps.

Alex is just happy that he can gloat about it looking superior on a 4090 though rather than complain about it not being clean/high enough res on low end machines at 60fps.

Even the 4090 image quality looks kind of shit.

God, the "it's children bullshit" bit here was extremely dumb. This is the same guy that had previously covered this game:

In fairness he covered it from an academic standpoint as an unreal engine Nintendo game. Doesn't mean he enjoys that particular "children bullshit". I agree with you though, saying it's for children is extremely dumb.

Which is something that he could have done as well for Hogwarts Legacy.
Nobody is asking for him to review or enjoy the game, but to analize the tech behind it. It's what they are for in the first place!

He could have but he was saying it's likely somebody else covers it since he doesn't enjoy it and it's not academically interesting. Nintendo's rare Unreal engine game was more interesting than covering WB's millionth Unreal engine game. Still don't agree with him saying it's childish bullshit though.

Still, John likes quite a lot of child friendly games out there, so it suddenly bothering him regarding HL is what puts me off. We all know that's not the case.

Not sure what's funny Senua Senua you look at that 4060 shot and you can see that the internal res is no better. Look at the steps on her trousers. it just has DLSS to make it look less sharply pixelated but it's clear the base res is atrocious. The 4090 image isn't particularly clean either but by far the best on max 4k. Doesn't mean Dragon Age is a great dev effort though to get that not particularly great result on a 4090. Not sure why it's receiving praise in comparison to other games.

I laugh because you have to shit on PC in every single thread, no matter the circumstance. You can do what ya want but hey, it makes me giggle.

Yea none of them look good, because it's zoomed in 5000x, but that PS5 performance shot is shockingly bad.

The 4060 is only performing slightly better then a PS5 here. Which makes sense, as outside of RT a 4060 is only slightly better then the GPU of the PS5. The 4060’s saving grace is of course DLSS. As well as the fact that most 4060 owners are rocking a 1080p monitor and will just set DLSS to quality and forget about it.

How did I shit on PC? If anything I'm shitting on the performance of the game and Alex conflating his 4090 PC performance that runs poorly on lower end hardware like the base PS5 and 4060 with the game being "brilliant". Having to drop to that low a res on a 4060 or base PS5 to maintain 60fps isn't a good performing game. He's just happy that he can claim the win because it has shite image quality on lower end hardware.

Win?

Who wins here? Xbox has the same shitty image quality, I thought DF were Xbox fanboys?

We all lose. Only DLSS is able to clean up image 10x better than FSR from absurd low resolutions. I really wonder what internal res Pro will have - 500p is FAR from any decent resolution to upscale and console is 45% more powerful according to Sony. Of course final image will still be miles better but 4k like on performance mode? I doubt it.

He is not wrong about harry potter being children bs.
I concur.

Also - I don't know, I started on the crusade etc. - but shit, if Mortis and a bunch of other verified good cats dig the game, regardless if others got left out, this whole calling the actual reviewers who accepted their review copy out (how dare them)...that's weak cats piss vibe by everyone.

I think half the 'conspiracy' is straight up just some inept marketing maneuvers , someone didn't read the room before doing the old influencer pre-review screening....heavy handed and weak, not evil and maniacal comes to mind.

I'm looking forward to this game partly due to graphics tech. Artstyle is camp and a downgrade, but I don't see how people can't be impressed by the graphics shown from a technical standpoint. I guess I'll see for myself tonight.

Great video as usual from Alex. People get outraged that he is "biased", but I think he's just a PC enthusiast who get's excited about top end graphics and performance. There is no one out there that I've seen who puts out as good meticulous videos detailing performance and settings on PC. His Wukong PC video was amazing as well.
