Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Simply Brilliant On PC - DF Tech Review

How did I shit on PC? If anything I'm shitting on the performance of the game and Alex conflating his 4090 PC performance that runs poorly on lower end hardware like the base PS5 and 4060 with the game being "brilliant". Having to drop to that low a res on a 4060 or base PS5 to maintain 60fps isn't a good performing game. He's just happy that he can claim the win because it has shite image quality on lower end hardware.
He's happy because it doesn't stutter and runs decently, and we know the former can be an issue with AAA PC releases. He's probably extra happy with this release because of the agenda within, but that's just my assumption. "Shit on" was harsh but you consistently minimise PC advantages. DLSS saves the day on low end GPUs, and PSSR will save the day on PS5 pros performance mode.

Despite the deserved backlash, I can understand how technically it does look great, amazing at times.

Lighting, vegetation, landscapes all look incredible with the hair looking exceptionally amazing.

Having said this, animations are at a PS3 level, specially facial animations, and the abysmal art design which completely contrast all the pros.

A new coat of paint isnt next gen.

Win?

Who wins here? Xbox has the same shitty image quality, I thought DF were Xbox fanboys?
That's my point, we all lose because the game doesn't have decent image quality at 60fps, whether that's on 4060, PS5 or xbox. The game looks decent but nothing in it screams "this can't run at 60fps with decent image quality". I think Alex is more happy about the gulf between a high end PC vs lower end hardware like consoles than he is at the end result.
We all lose. Only DLSS is able to clean up image 10x better than FSR from absurd low resolutions. I really wonder what internal res Pro will have - 500p is FAR from any decent resolution to upscale and console is 45% more powerful according to Sony. Of course final image will still be miles better but 4k like on performance mode? I doubt it.
It's confirmed as Pro enhanced but really I've seen far better performing games (on the base, and lower end PC) which get lambasted.
