I would hate to be their server. Imagine the smell. You think they bleached the seats, or just chucked 'em?

Here nice vid of DD2 since its often compared to DA:V in terms of sales/steam ccu and overall quality.
All of us remember at launch game was plagued by bad optimisation and ofc it all got reflected in lower user/review scores but the thing is, flaws like those can be patched out and bruteforced with top of the line rigs, proof here, 4k raytracing ultra settings, even in cities runs extremly smooth, often over 100fps

Look how clean user ui is, and how awesome combat system looks there, actual proper rpg, with party, no purple on sight, and its real open world rpg, not corridor action adventure like DA:V :)
Dialogues/story etc are top notch too, not just the graphics :p

And if u happen to be console only player, guess what, DD2 on ps5pr0 is pretty good now too:

Alternative source for improved dd2 performance, since some ppl dont like DF vids:

But i thought she was a vocal in a metal band?

Man what the hell is wrong with people today? Used to be that totally losing your composure and having an unhinged emotional meltdown was something that reflected negatively on your character. This is not something that grown ups do.

Why the fuck would you record yourself doing this and share it with the entire world? These people are mentally ill.

Most are just goofing around for laughs and clicks. At least I assume that. But, there's going to a % of them who are seriously going ape shit about it. Thats the world we live in. Sit back and enjoy the laughs!

Bottomed out at 11,500 middle of the night. It'll be sub-10,000 for sure this week.

Also to note, the gaming press has turned on the game with articles that boil down to the game isn't like previous entries, the story has a lot of issue, and even TheGamer wrote an article that it is "too woke" (their words, not mine). And this is after almost all them sold it like the game of a generation.

It's curious considering they wrote these critical articles outside the launch period in which most AAA games make their most sales.

Curious.

Edit: I want us all to take a moment to consider that TheGamer.... of all publications said something is, in their exact words, "Too Woke."

Grab a screenshot in case they delete it later.

Wow, Thegamer? That is pretty shocking considering that website is pretty much woke most of the time.

They were on the payroll. Marketing agreements.

It doesn't take a genius to notice how different the game is. I've never played a DA game ever and I could tell by comparing videos of old games to Veilguard and it's totally different. Veilguard is a colourful hack and slash RPG while old games had controllable NPCs in a darker setting. And that was before all the hilarious woke cut scenes came out. Heck, the box art already communicates a different kind of game.

Ehh I just skimmed through it. Seems like they just used the word “woke” as clickbait. It’s mainly the author spending multiple paragraphs touting how progressive, gay, and nonbinary she is, then criticizing the game for being too inoffensive and removing any moral gray areas.

Yeah, and it's telling they are realizing that criticizing it brings in views now as oppose to playing defense. Begrudgingly accepting it is the growing majority view. Either way, they want the Chud views.

Their argument boils down to what you stated and also the trope of now there is no renegade play anymore in Bioware games just "Paragon or Snarky, Quippy Paragon"

But wait...they said it was a 'return to form'...I don't understand.

I did not buy this game, but I have an impression that this game might have the record numbers of being refunded or returned and resale. Media are now backtracking maybe due to backlash against them or change of political climate coming.

But it has to be inoffensive, as with it being so diverse they wouldn't dare include something that could be seen as phobic

They tried really hard to push it and prove the chuds wrong, and lost. Now they're trying to distance themselves from that earlier effort in a bid to maintain credibility.

Basically, I think these sites are starting to realize that they are very much in the minority. People simply aren't buying the crap that they're pushing.

I feel like a schizo when I talk about how these review sites score games based on how they adhere to the Narrative, then I see this and it is:

1. game gets crazy great reviews and tons of hype
2. Comes out, mid player reception at best
3. woke stuff starts hitting YT
4. same sites that gave the game 9/10 then say "well yea it really isn't that great"

How is it possible to come to any other conclusion, the reviews are still up, we can see what they wrote before it came out and before players weighed in.

It all makes sense now

BlueSky? More like Resetsky amirite

Did this get de-railed or something? I see a bunch of talk about....other stuff, but whatever.

I seemed to have lost what passing interest I had in this game. It feels like I am playing a CW Dragon Age. A "graphics card removed" bug killed my focus, I think I've troubleshot it but I can't get my interest back. New party members I don't care for. I do have that Qunari and the Necromancer, but I don't think I like any of my party mates, lol.

Being stern seems to be a waste of time?

I'm sure I'm just repeating a lot of what's been said.

Except that it being nominated for one (inconsequential) award proves that is not correct.

Best Accessibility Options in a Game is a coveted, proud, and respectable category that will be remembered for generations and a sign of a milestone accomplishment and totally not a place to hand out a pity awards by the organization running the show.

Go to Veilguards reddit subforum and enjoy the meltdowns.

If one would take them at face value, this is the best game ever made, with the best writting and gameplay ever made.
What surprises us about this? For many years now, there has been a trend to kill the RPG genre by completely resetting the mechanics and simplifying the gameplay. We rarely get games like BG3, Rogue Trader, etc. from time to time, but this is a drop in the ocean. Now the RPG label is stuck on games that have practically nothing to do with RPGs. The view of players has changed a lot, and the new generation of players and those who are not familiar with the old school, see RPGs exactly like this.

Less than 10k players rn. 💀
US asleep and us euro-bros are at work, so makes sense, weird that it is still that high, by Game Awards the peak will likely go down from current 24,5k 24h peak to below 20k, maybe even 15k :D
What really is stagerring tho, is difference between estimated sold copies on steam between DD2(from 1m to 2,7m) but DA:V only 202k to 722k, thats 4 to 5x fewer copies sold vs DD2 so far, not 3x fewer like alltime peak of ccu would suggest :)

TLDR: Vailguard actual sales must have been artrocious for big AAA IP, sometimes im glad us-gaffers are only a drop in the bucket coz i noticed tons of gaffers bought the game(yep even many who critiqued and keep doing it :messenger_ok:) the game .
