Both Mexico and Canada have caved within 24 hours.
lol @ ‘caved’. Everything on this list could have been gotten through a day of negotiations and not this shitshow.
Still, happy nobody has anything to seize upon to make games cost more than $70.
Both Mexico and Canada have caved within 24 hours.
Eggs for 15 dollars!!!????I love paying $15 for a dozen eggs, why wouldn’t I want to pay $700 for the Switch 2?
Canada laid out retaliatory tariffs. What are you talking about?
Eggs for 15 dollars!!!????
What are they made of gold???
Here in Mexico they cost 2 dollars a dozen and it is too expensive.
The avocado here is 2 or 3 dollars per kilogram.
1 kilogram of fruits combined is 1.50 $ dollars.

American tariffs are on hold as well.Which will now not move forward because the tariffs are paused and a deal has been reached temporarily.
Yes, a very economic solution. The various times I've had chickens, they always produced far more than I could eat.Or even better. Own your own chickens and you can have all the eggs you want for free.
Once when I went to a farm as a child, I asked why the eggs were different colors, the farmer told me because they gave him a special herbI don't know where that dude is, maybe California or somewhere. Fortunately eggs haven't gotten that expensive here yet.
12 white eggs are $4.99 to $6.99 in my part of VA, depending on if they're cage free or however they distinguish it.
Brown eggs are more expensive for some reason.
Eggs here for a generic dozen are around 4-5 USD right now in this part of Florida, which is elevated, but nothing not seen before.I don't know where that dude is, maybe California or somewhere. Fortunately eggs haven't gotten that expensive here yet.

It's based on the species of chicken. Or at least, that is a factor. Used to get blue, all kinds.Once when I went to a farm as a child, I asked why the eggs were different colors, the farmer told me because they gave him a special herb.
I think it's just what color the hen was, lol.

I don’t understand how Canada caved here though.Yes, correct. That's why there's an agreement between the two sides. Canada will have 30 days to show that they will do what they agreed to do in the deal.
Oh okay, I wasn't sure! My bad!Yes, I know... It's because of the genetics and breed of the chicken... Even so, as a child I believed it because I was naive. .![]()
In fact, Mexico did not give in, we were even saved from the tariffs for the moment... Our president saved us in the morning.Mexico caved today and so did panama.
Might be a nothing burger and tarrifes go away.
Canada though..we have a liberal french fuck as prime minister who will fuck us.
I can see prices here go up crazy
I don’t understand how Canada caved here though.

Trump's Tariffs on Video Games Would Cause 'Significant Harm' to 'Everyday Americans,' ESA Warns - IGN
As U.S. president Donald Trump's controversial import tariffs take effect, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has urged the administration to consult with the private sector to avoid harm to the video game industry.www.ign.com
Well yeah, you’re in the motherland where outlandish tariffs don’t exist!Eggs for 15 dollars!!!????
What are they made of gold???

Youre lucky you're not Australian. Thanks America. Just making everyday life even more fucking expensive for regular everyday people.
I’m seeing the price of literally everything raise significantly right before my eyes here in Canada.
Games are already 100 dollars here. I’m not buying anything that isn’t from a premium developer with a good track record anymore. No more experimenting with new games
Fuck the ESA, fuck em.
Both Mexico and Canada have caved within 24 hours.
They are the lobbying group of gaming corporations (all your favorite ones from Sony to MS to Nintendo) created to stop the government from regulating video games in the 90s after the mortal Kombat, doom and night trap histeria. They run the esrb rating board and E3, they also lobby the government to prevent them from banning loot boxes and every other tactic they use to fuck the consumer over. They also claim emulation is piracy and theft, fuck em. Bunch of snakes.ESA is the group that used to run E3 right?

And ours is licking dicks and balls and doesnt give a shit about us.In fact, Mexico did not give in, we were even saved from the tariffs for the moment... Our president saved us in the morning.
All I see are two sides coming to a deal.Instead of retaliating with their own tariffs and getting into a full blown trade war with the US, Trudeau within 24 hours agreed to Trump's terms. Trump is giving him 30 days to to do what he agreed to or the tariffs will be restarted.

Canada didn’t have to agree either. I don’t agree that Canada caved on anything. Don’t forget that Canada is a G7 nation and can find other buyers for our exports. The difference is the US didn't have to agree to do anything for Canada outside of pausing the tariff for 30 days. Canada had to agree to all of the US's terms just to get a 30 day reprieve. If Canada doesn't do what they agree to do within that 30 days deadline, tariffs restart. Canada absolutely caved in this negotiation. Canada exports over 70% of its goods from the US. They have little to no leverage. If they try to retaliate with tariffs, it would just destroy their own economy. Canada is much more reliant on the US than the US is reliant on Canada.

What I think is this:
- Trump needs a distraction while running his takeover and removal of checks and balances;
- Trump was advised that this would severely damage the livelihoods of his voter base;
- Trump will sell it as a win for his base, when in reality, it accomplished nothing of merit between Canada and US besides getting Canadians to be anti-US and having other allies already considering counter-tariffs.
-Tariffs would mark a dramatic failure of one of his key election platforms which is to lower the cost of living. He already failed on his Ukraine promise of solving the war within 24hours.
His approval rating is at its all time high, and tariffs was on his agenda. So this isn't a surprise to his voter base. Tariffs on Canada will not have much impact on the average American. China is the elephant in the room and the one country that can play on equal footing with the US. Energy cost is what will ultimately drive cost of living down, not the lack of tariffs. Tariffs is a tool that many other countries in the world utilize. It's not some novel concept that is just now being used.
They are miles ahead and at this point you better start learning mandarin.
I will quote this two years from now and it will be hilarious. Its just another fear mongering attack .. it's what the leftist media does best.
I’ve already done that for many many years. Thanks America. Just making everyday life even more fucking expensive for regular everyday people.

Only if you keep your corporate doofus sources out. There's a reason those " serious news" companies have no credibility anymore.I get that they're negotiating. But that was not the angle of the made up story you quoted.. You know, it's not that hard to detect the horrible reek of shit from MAGA "sources". We should keep that kind smell out of this place.

yeah, god it should be fun to play "the president" when your whole base consists of full retards. You're actually delusional. Canada and Mexico didn't cave to shit. Trump scrambled like a fucking cuck the second Mexico and Canada stood up to him and held firm with counter tariffs. It took Trump 2 days to back the fuck off his hardcore promise that nothing could stop this.
All the stuff Mexico and Canada supposedly "caved" on was already planned. The 1.3 billion for border security was a deal struck in December with Biden ( You can see the government announcement about it here: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-saf...rder-security-and-our-immigration-system.html ). Trump is just claiming victory over it because he has to do something to make this look like anything other than a total disaster when he backs off.
All Trump managed to do was increase anti-american sentiment around the world. Countries are re-evaluating US partnerships, trying to form alternative alliances / trade deals. America just lost a ton of good will, trust, and soft power to gain nothing. It's the worst foreign policy I've ever seen if you actually give a shit about the well being of America. Of course all of this is a distraction to the fact that Social Security, Medicaid, and other federal bodies are all being dismantled and gutted in the background. I can't wait to see all the poor dumb fuck reds crying about how further fucked they are and how inflation is even higher as they die of treatable medical conditions.
Anyone cheering this on is a complete retard celebrating their own country as it burns. If anyone should be celebrating right now it's the progressives who hate America and wanted to see it burn and become powerless.
Edit: Btw if anyone would like another example of how dogshit tariffs are for your economy, especially if you believe it's already in a slump: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoot–Hawley_Tariff_Act
Yes, but did he get the popular vote? Hmm? Tell me that one.Didn't he win every swing state?
Yes, but did he get the popular vote? Hmm? Tell me that one.
Its crazy how little people on here know about this. Firstly, it's not a 10% tarrif but an additional 10% tarrif on the existing tarrifs for China. Now as it relates to video game software, there will be no effect. However for hardware, there is the potential for an increase of > than 10%. It's not a one to one relationship between the increase in tarrif and increase in prices. The increase that consumers bare is often greater than the tarrif due to the tarrif itself, greedflation, and other factors.Seems way too alarmist? A 10% hike on videogames isn’t the worst thing for mankind is it? I get the impact on food prices, but not entertainment
Hey cut me some slack. I was eating dark chocolate cake for 5 of those minutes!
Both Mexico and Canada have caved within 24 hours.
Now Americans will feel how it feels for us Europeans ALWAYS ?
Yes? Also, I'm a European so the whole "Electoral College" is LOL-worthy to me, but if these are the rules, these are the rules. Vote to change them if you don't like it.Yes, but did he get the popular vote? Hmm? Tell me that one.
