Holy shit panda.

Edit: May as well ask here. For the Smash folks here, how does one properly Shine out of shield? Is it an immediate down B after pressing a jump button (cancelling the first frames of the jump animation) or can I be more lenient (be in the middle of a jump out of the shield)/is it a case by case thing?

Just have to be fast. Has to be in pre-jump frames which are larger for Falco than Fox, making it a bit easier for that character. After your hands get used to the speed doing one isn't that hard.

Doing it repeatedly is fucking bananas though. Probably the only technical thing in that game I never bothered to get good at since I was a Marth/Falcon player.

Here is a gif I came up with, dunno how well people will like it, I thought it was good first, but second guessing it, but I was almost done making it so I just finish it. I am calling it: Firebrand gets a hit, time for a 1 player show:

As a Marth main from 2001, learning Fox for real (Project M) makes me appreciate Marth sooooooooooooooooooooo much more than I did before (which is a lot since Marth's my favorite Smash character and probably my favorite fighting game character period). Marth allows me to relax 100 fold and just focus on the basics (movement and spacing) and the match. Fox is amazing but the level you have to take him to in order to go from casually goofing around and picking on someone's mistakes to actually controlling the pace of sets is whoa.

It's fun though. I'm glad I got back to Smash/Melee game play after all the time I've spent with fighters recently. I have a new found appreciation for that style of game and it's making the grind more fun than it should be.

I believe Smash players are more exclusive than other scenes to a potentially debilitating degree.

Yeah to this day I still see Smash players talking about how other games are just about combos and cancels or even give commentators shit over minor differences in lingo (like ditto/mirror match), some of them just really aren't interested.

guys guys, let's all relax. the FGC needs to be more tight. less fighting game genre infighting. less e-drama. let's all come together and sing kumbaya under a cause that unites us all:

making fun of people who still play darkstalkers

Okay, now shit is real.

I think you have the wrong gif for Firebrand; Maybe a gif demonstrating its a single player game. That gif is just gross/kind of funny clip from Spaceballs minus any context. If you were to use the 15 seconds before that scene, it would make a lot more sense.

TLDR; Humor and context; how does it work?

Yep, I do agree, I need to get on my hot streak again with making stream monster gifs, I need another 10 More years gif to get me on fire again

On the rare occasion I play Melee today I just quit out of frustration. I always take for granted how hard that game is to play at a high level and it's hard for me to stick with pure fundamentals since there's so much you can do. I can't see myself ever playing the game again unless I'm given at least two weeks prep-time lol.

Slayer of Combofiends
Jesus Christ. There is drama everywhere, Deckard has to be one of the worst trolls I've seen, don't set me up with him Dahbomb if he doesn't play the game, it wouldn't be fair for me since I would lose :p

Also, Annel, I wanna pick up GG +R and BBCP! I play SF and Marvel so it shouldn't be too hard to adapt.

God, tell me about it. I feel like if I had gotten "serious" about playing Melee right around the time of Brawl's release, I'd be amazing at it, but only because I would have felt out the mechanics over time. Now that I know the scope of everything, it's fucking daunting and I get the worst cases of frustration when something doesn't go right because X option(s) wasn't accounted for.

I need to learn to smash DI more.

If you love that scene so much just have this;
guy sits a seat "finally, I can play some Mahvel"
guy not feeling well "Oh man, he go the first hit"
FB/chest burster comes out "you don't get to playyyy"
FB/Chest burster dancing "Welcome to the singler play game"

still a gross part of SpaceBalls.

A better gif from spaceballs is the maid sucking up the planets air with ESGN
"sir we are getting no CPMs or moneys"
"thats because there is no money in the FGC"

Another scene of them combing the sand dunes

Officers ESGN or VXG "You guys find any views (money)?"
Dude using a giant comb in the sand. Feel free to replace with Triforce or Flocker
"We ain't found sh*t"

Your body isn't ready... yet. You must fully embrace the anime. By this time next year you'll be talking about your pink bentos and your waifus and everything moo hah hah hah.

Besides, if you're a SF player, Aquapazza would be more your speed. :p

When people see me play they still say I have the slickest play style they've ever seen though! That makes me feel kinda good after getting 4-stocked! :)

I feel the same way. Spacies make me less accurate on movement and I tend to autopilot with them.
Marth is fun on utilizing space really well and getting those really good reads to get things going.

Who are you interested in? And also, It helps having fighting game fundamentals, but learning neutral in ASW games is a little weird lol you'll pick it up fast as long as you make sure you focus on the right things and don't get carried away.

Side note: If you're interested in finding a local scene too lemme know. I really get around.

Funnily
sadly
enough, I have an absurd amount of Brawl playtime racked up.
Approximately 1492 hours.
Back when it first came out, I was convinced the game was better than it was. That and Smash was always a series I could pour stupid amounts of time into via training mode and casual matches.

It's also because online Brawl kinda stagnated that I moved towards traditional fighters and because of the Project M mod group + Melee's second coming (lots of new exposure and tournament footage) that I moved back towards Smash.
