Yeah, the drawing/animation style isn't exactly hard to replicate. It's really basic.
South Park is still pretty funny, but I do kind of feel it's moment has passed a bit.
It's a surprising announcement, I'll give Game Informer that, but not really that exciting.
And I like both South Park and Obsidian games.

I'm actually pretty excited about this. I enjoyed the N64 game. This seems like it will be taken seriously.
South Park is possibly the most consistently funny show around.

I'm so very much looking forward to this game. I don't care if you disagree with them (probably because they exposed the ridiculousness of some belief you hold), those guys are geniuses at best and hilarious at worst.
I remember playing those older South Park games and having a ton of fun (although I was admittedly pretty young). I think the show lends itself well to the video game space, and I expect it to be a very fun ride even if the game itself sucks (which it won't because of Obsidian). It looks like it has everything covered to me.
What if all them were in his Japanese voice? Because I could take 400+ hours of that.
I'm hoping they go all out with the class and/or skill options. They have so many concepts for custom characters they could pull directly from the show. Really play up the genre-bending aspects to the show in the game and you unlock so many innovative ideas for your gameplay systems as well.
The show itself is still consistently good though I pick and choose the episodes to watch; some of the humor doesn't resonate quite the same with me but they handle social satire really well.

It seems to be a full length title and I believe it was even called that in the description.
If anything else it being on the cover of GI should confirm it as one. They're not going to put a xbla/psn game on the cover.
insert nirolak making me look foolish by pulling a game out of nowhere that was on the cover like 2 years ago
Yeah it just seems weird to have this as a full priced game. I would definitely pay $15 for this, but $40-60 is iffy.

Did they say anything much else to "hype this up"?
Anyway, I haven't watched much South Park in the last few years but I think it's a very funny show. More comedy in games is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Happy to hear Obsidian is doing South Park... (this or Adventure Time would have rocked equally IMO).

I just want to know if it's 3D done in the show's cut out style, or 2D side scrolling done in that style.

It can be more than five hours. I'm not really sure what to think since it's too early to say, but I am excited for a South Park RPG though.
I'll agree with that. Though nothing will match the early 2000s PC jank and some of Denton's awkward lines.
