Totally out of the left field. Hah.
I will definitely get this if it turns out to be good. I've been waiting for a South Park game... well, not really, but it seems like I have been after this is announced. :p

Well it's not like this is their only project in the works. This is just some shitty secondary game and MCA, Tim Cain and J.E. Sawyer and the rest of the cool kids are working on a real RPG, right?

.... right? :(

They're the best RPG dev in the business right now.

The problem is some dummies were expecting something like Shenmue 3, next gen console reveals and other equally ridiculous never-going-to-happen things.
I think they are the most overrated RPG dev in the business, I think with the South Park license it could be interesting, it's just it being Obsidian is what concerns me but maybe they will surprise me.

1. Obsidian has a good number of Fallout 2 developers on staff.
2. Obsidian Knocks it out of the park with New Vegas
3. Obsidian hires Fallout creator
4. Bethesda comes out with new engine
5. Obsidian announces.. south park?

I'm not sure how any is related to the other really. Seems like you made up a bunch of assumptions in your head to try and link all these points together to result in a disappointment. They've been working on the South Park project for ages now, so it's not like it really has any bearing on anything else.

Btw, Tim Cain isn't even likely to be a long time permanent staff at Obsidian. He's just helping out as a programmer while he is waiting on another gig he really wants at another developer. Lulz.

My only concern here is that Matt and Trey have been giving people the impression that they are tired of South Park. The finale for last season (or was it mid-season?) had people thinking they were ready to quit. I know they said on the Daily Show that they're not, but the writing has its moments that bring forth doubt.

If the guys put their best efforts into this, I think it will be stellar. I think there's a lot of huge potential here and the whole "wizards and warriors" thing gives the guys the creative freedom to take the IP somewhere new, yet still within familiar territory.

I'm going to remain optimistic about this and I look forward to seeing some video of it in action.

You forgot the part where Fallout New Vegas sells a fuckton of copies, yet Obsidian hardly sees any money from it.

Still without luck
Wow. This is, without any doubt, the most uninterested I have ever been with any Game Informer game reveal.

I hate South Park.

They made the better KotOR. Though, I never played Alpha Protocol, so I can't speak on that.

AP is a janky mess that's also one of the most interesting RPGs I've played in ages. They did some really cool stuff there, its what launched them into my sights as "the only current WRPG studio I care about"

In my heart it feels like the greatest thing ever. I don't need to know anything else. When, where and how much?

It's your fault you jumped on the hype machine. An interesting reveal for sure...I don't think anyone was expecting that.

I don't understand why this would be starring a created character. It feels like Stan would work just as well.

Also, the majority of GAFers don't understand the concept of the word "shocking". This certainly is very unexpected.

I hope Obsidian's writers to do some work on this as well, they'd absolutely sink their teeth into the material.

You've gotta be kidding me?

This is what people at Game Informer were "so excited" to see their readers react to? This was the most "shocking" cover of the year for GI?

A... South Park... RPG?

I don't care if Patrick Stewart were doing the voicework and BioWare were doing the RPG elements - South Park?

Talk about a disappointment...

If there was a contest between Obsidian and Bioware in the actual RPG elements department then Bioware would lose every time.

Gordon Freeman is not pleased :/

In my country South Park never been aired, so I have not idea what's going on with this cartoon or its history, but serisouly, this is biggest surprise of the year ? .. cartoon games now and for what age will be available.

Wait! wow; it means that for Gameinformer, the upcoming GTA V will have "Meh, review/preview". I don't see the balance here in case if GI is fan of SP.

Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, Far Cry 3, XCOM, Dishonored are more of a surprise for me than this, after all THIS are GAMES. The word discribe that.

I hope we'll see Imaginationland and visit it. Imagine fighting the evil characters lol

Hope they have many tie-ins to popular movies, cartoons, etc. Hell this could be the Conker Bad Fur Day of this generation.

It was mid-season. They aren't tired of South Park. They just got renewed through 2016.

It's kind of weird that we're getting a South Park RPG now, when there was an FPS 14 years ago.

I was actually kinda hoping for Obsidian on the Adventure Time game....

I expected it to be something that would just be boring and uninteresting, and we get something so insultingly shite I wouldn't care about it even if you paid me to.

It's neat that you can see the future and have already made a complete objective review of a game that hasn't been released yet. You are super incredible but I have to ask: Why are you wasting your powers on a videogame forum?

lol, dammit. my hype train crashed in a burning fireball of disappointment.

at least i still have the VGA announcement to look forward to
