The big question is if he finished his ADR.
If he was already so far into his new film, I imagine he'd be done with this, but I'm not too well versed in the industry

Are you retarded?

Why do you think this is in any way alike?

I posted it back on page 2, but the similarity in the makeup is rather eerie. Get used to it, because the comparison isn't going away.

God damn it! No no no no no. He was just getting good too. His portrayal as the son in Monster balls was amazing and broke back. and joker! God damn it....

They recast Rachel Dawes, I'm sure they could recast the Joker. It'd be hard to find someone who can match Ledger's intensity in the role (at least from what I've seen in the trailers) but the make-up and look of the Joker would help minimize the visual differences between seperate actors.

there's a difference. Katie Holmes got brainwashed, Ledger died.

Wait what?
LOL.

I thought the actress looked different in the TDK trailer.
I didn't give a rat's ass for the Rachael Dawes character, so I didn't give it a second though.

Why did she bail on the sequel?

Depends on the movie and the actor. I worked on "The New World" back in 04, and Colin Farrell had to do extra ADR for Alexander while we were shooting.

She didn't bail. She was dumped.

I just want to say as a person who has battled depression for the last few years, it is absolutely wrong to say he was a bad person, asshole, etc. It also does not mean he did not love his daughter dearly. Depression is a disease and these days, doctors are way to quick to just prescribe some meds without even knowing the full condition of the patient. These medications (specifically narcotic sleep aids) have a very high chance of being abused by people afflicted with this condition. People who are depressed are not in a normal logical state of mind - even if it seems that way, it's a twisted logic, not the type a well balanced person would use.

I feel terrible for the pain he felt as well as everything his daughter must now live with.

Death is never funny in real life.

I think I will buy BBmountain tomorrow, just to see his acting again.

Shocking and saddening news. I hope they leave his performance in TDK unchanged, as it looks as if it will leave a great legacy.

RIP.

Lack of sleep can do alot to your mental state and thought process you would not normally experience . I can attest after surgery in 2004 and not be able to sleep for great many days my delusions and thoughts were quite extreme.

They fucking traded up big time on Rachel Dawes character. Doing the same with Joker will be pretty difficult IMO. Ledger was one of the better younger actors out there.

it doesnt matter if it seems likely or unlikely at this stage.. nothing can be confirmed right now. everything is just speculation. nothing is confirmed right now.

Exactly, we'll know when the autopsy report hits, it's pretty much useless guessing what happened. Nothing from his life seems to point at drugs though, maybe I just don't follow him enough.
And to the guys pissed about my remark, believe it or not, I haven't seen him anywhere besides some TV series where he was a warrior or something, it was in the league of "Hercules" and "Xena". Basicly, I don't watch movies much/at all.

I hope the Batman nerds in here get banned.

Joke, right?

Because morbidly discussing the details of a suicide/crime scene seems worse than discussing a movie.

I'm kind of surprised how GAF has glommed on to batman, Ledger aside. I haven't seen Batman Begins, but it has a sort of religious following around here.

R.I.P Heath.
She's two. i doubt it will be much of an issue with her now as compared to when she's several years older and can begin to realize the situation surrounding his death.

Don't maim me for being rude but don't actors die all the time?
And who was the guy?

There is this movie called the Dark Knight coming out, which is the sequal to Batman Begins, which is a film based on the comic book character Batman. He was going to play a character called the Joker, who is an arch nemesis of Batman.

"The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."

If you're going to make an awful, tasteless joke, at least do so about some sort of Gyllenhaal Brokeback Mountain revenge.

If you're watching the news, you're part of the problem. Just look at this thread. The same people defending his honour are no doubt combing every gossip blog out there and tuning into every 24 hour news station to get their celebrity fix. I don't blame them, though - just people being people. We all have that natural curiosity...

Ledger had finished filming his role as the Joker this year in “The Dark Knight,” a sequel to 2005’s “Batman Begins.”

Kids know, she'll notice the absence of her father specially if they were close which they seemed to be. Even one year olds recognize their parents.

I'm not some cineast like ELITE-gaf so don't attack me for my lack of knowledge, but I still go and see a couple of movies per year and I've never heard of the guy until the announcement of BM2.
So was he good?

Based on what... a picture? Or is Heath one of your best friends?

He was nominated for an academy award. I guess Cher was too. But yeah, he was good.

that's what i was thinking. i know its nothing new ... since silent-era hollywood you got the low-down as soon as a celeb died ... but thats just not right. if i croaked with a bunch of pills by my side i would NOT want that broadcasted internationally. you'd think they'd have privacy acts to prevent that sort of thing by now

Any particular reason other than the fact that her performance reminded me of an even shittier Kirsten Dunce doing an even shittier Mary Jane character?

(Yes, Dunce)

Depression is hell on earth definitely, and we've all been there. I hope you've almost completely recovered from it, best of luck to you man :).

R.I.P.

And it's only appropriate, after the condolences have been aired, to start talking about Batman. Because it looks like it's going to be an awesome movie, most likely because of Ledger himself.

Interesting how peole are stating the Joker couldn't be recast after having such a good actor portray such an iconic character.

Remember Jack Nicholson's Joker? You know, one of the greatest villain performances put on film?

I'm sure they could get someone else if they wanted to.

Finished filming does not mean dialog has been finished being recorded.
