i have never said stupid shit like that. If you gonna talk about batman and the joker, just talk about it in the batman thread. Its obvious the nerds that posting about the batman shit cares more about the movie then ledger. Its really unsettling.

You don't see the hypocrisy in this statement at all? Not 2 posts below you asking for a link to some details of his drug use?

Give it a rest already. The more you jank about it, the more attention you'll get from the mods. Just go to the Dark Knight thread with your concerns. That's the best for you and this thread.

wtf... damn... I know nary a few tiny things about Heath Ledger, but RIP nonetheless.
Also, sorry if this comes off as insensitive, and I don't mean to trivialize his death, but this will make The Dark Knight's release/media coverage very strange...

I read this on another website:

"I went to Heath Ledger's house once (no, not because I "hang out with celebrities"; it was only because he lived, at the time, in my neighborhood and we had heard that there was a party nearby at "some dude's house") and when I met him someone called his phone. I asked, "Who was that", and his reply was, "My dealer". Yes, indeed, it was in fact "his dealer". The dude was on the phone with his cocaine dealer. I couldn't believe it, and being the (sometimes) bold person that I am, I then asked, "Oh, so you're into that sorta thing, huh?" He said, "Yeah", and I walked out. It was pathetic. I couldn't believe it. I had heard that "a lot of celebrities were doing 'coke'", but that pretty much sealed it for me."

and this was a Blind Item just now revealed to be Heath Ledger:

All one person.

Not that doing drugs is any kind of shocker but a supposed family man? A serious actor? Settled down and severe? Apparently what happens in Toronto stays in Toronto.

So as I’m sure you know, celebrities don’t procure their own happy substances. That’s what wranglers are for. Go-t0-guys and girls assigned to the task of purchasing the poison and getting it into the hands of the stars who want it.

Popular local hot spot, A list actor is itching for some action. His runner is dispatched on the errand and comes back with more than enough to satisfy a five member rock band. But on this night, only one knight is the user, and according to my source – lock tight at that – he did so much blow it’s a wonder he hasn’t died from a heart attack.

Which explains the Jekyll & Hyde behaviour. Super accommodating one day, sullen and snarky the next. Method acting perhaps… but still, if I were the woman in his life, I’d probably keep a closer eye.

...and you believe this?

It doesn't matter why you want it. You're being a hypocrite. We don't know Heath Ledger personally, or his family, and to act that it's unseemly to discuss what actually does affect us by his death is unrealistic. Don't get high and mighty with some, when you are essentially being just as insincere.

Fuck, this is terrible and unexpected. I was really hoping this news was false. Apparently he was found face-down and the pills were sleeping pills.

RIP

Word is Heath cleaned up his drug habits shortly after the birth of his daughter and has been clean for awhile now. If he had overdosed on cocaine the police would have found some at the scene, I think it's safe to say hard drugs were not involved in his death.

Holy crap, heard people talking about this on the bus. I thought they were joking or it was some publicity stunt. RIP.

good point, sorry dont mean to make enemy's people, I just find the act of killing your self is an act of ignorance at best. So if it is found that he was murdered I will retract every word said

totally unexpected and sad.

r.i.p.

playing as and living as the joker must have messed with his mind...
I would think his wife leaving him would be a TAD more depressing, just a hunch.

I really like Heath Ledger. The guy had some genuine talent and I'll reserve further comment regarding his method of death until more information is made public. Regardless of how he died, this is a very sad event. He was a great actor and was just showing how good he could have been. I'll leave his personal life out of this as I didn't know him on that level.

Just read this on AICN in Harry's topic about Heath:

Additional news on this... I hear from Quint that Michelle Williams is at Sundance with a film about a woman dealing with the death of her husband.

Screwed up...

what the fuck are you are talking about? I ask for the fucking link because that sounded fake. People would talk about batman rather then his death. thats what i'm pissed about. So how do that make me a hypocrite when that doesn't even add up? whatever, its clear in the video he's on something to be honest. so whatever.

Wow

That's shocking and sad. I've really enjoyed his work and thought he was on the cusp of really breaking out to a super-super star

A very talented actor who'll be missed.

I always feel bad when I feel bad when famous people die because I really don't care about the thousands who die everyday, many of whom are probably far better people. :/

If you don't get that gossiping about the details of the man's death and the man's movie are the same thing, then I can't help you.

It has now been reported that he was ill with pneumonia when he died. Also...

TMZ said:
TMZ has been contacted by a rep from Heath's family. The cops told the family Heath's death was accidental and there is no evidence to support the buzz that he may have committed suicide.

They are particularly distraught over media reports that he may have taken his own life. The family says he was not that kind of person.

As we just reported, Heath was ill with pneumonia when he died.

So, shut up about suicide. Let's let this be the end of that.

This is an interview of him talking about the joker:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKa-aDga1fE

Is it me or does he seem a bit wired?

This is off the front page of slashfilm.com, which kind of explains his behaviour:

In an interview published in the NY Times in November, Ledger is attributed with a few alarming quotes and behavioral tics that could be interpreted as warning signs for severe distress and anxiety…

….as often happens when he throws himself into a part, he is not sleeping much.

“Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,” he said. “I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.” One night he took an Ambien, which failed to work. He took a second one and fell into a stupor, only to wake up an hour later, his mind still racing.

Even as he spoke, Mr. Ledger was hard-pressed to keep still. He got up and poured more coffee. He stepped outside into the courtyard and smoked a cigarette. He shook his hair out from under its hood, put a rubber band around it, took out the rubber band, put on a hat, took off the hat, put the hood back up. He went outside and had another cigarette. Polite and charming, he nonetheless gave off the sense that the last thing he wanted to do was delve deep into himself for public consumption. “It can be a little distressing to have to overintellectualize yourself,” is how he put it, a little apologetically.

They recast Rachel and she was a minor role - I can see The joker being recast
That was because Katie Holmes didn't want to be bother from her newly married bliss then. Only to come back and do some crap chick flick about stealing and spending other people's money.

Everything seems to be pointing to an unintentional overdose of sleeping pills. It's possible that he's an insominac to begin with and years of using sleeping pills started to have less and less effect. Maybe he combined other stuff to try to get some sleep.

Just..... fuck it!

SpeedingUptoStop

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
I was just talking with friends today about how totally bizarre his prep was for the joker, locking himself in the hotel room and all. The man was dedicated, surely, but obviously he let it get away from him. :-/

Pretty sad. He seemed like an all around good guy, and a good actor to boot. The news I was watching said that after he played The Joker in Dark Knight he became paranoid and actually afraid of the moraless character he was playing. Pretty crazy.

It is actually very possible to drive oneself insane ... in the literal sense. A whole number of real mental problems can actually be created by a person.

Method acting can actually be a dangerous game.

You know, it's not entirely wrong. As long as you don't idolize him it's ok. He was a guy who did an amazing job as an actor, and I'm pretty sure he was on his way to becoming a bigger star than he already is/was.

I think people are making WAY too much of his preparation for the Joker role.

Indeed, it's worse than those who were condemning him for taking sleeping pills. It all boils down to the same thing, suggesting he was off his rocker and he killed himself, when it is becoming ever more apparent that's not what happened at all.
