Yeah E3 is either going one of two ways.

- They either show a character that wasn't in the leak to be like "See don't trust everything online". However It'll be nothing more than that one character and one other (To keep parity with the other side).

- They deflect hardcore, letting us know that the leaked roster is indeed real. So most of us just pout but at least appreciate the gameplay. Since hopefully it should be a new build, especially graphically.

Yeah I think they're just going to deflect. It's some BS, but this close to release, they can't change it.

But how do they defend this? This is the worst.

Yep, time flew fast.
I wonder if people are going to be more excited or dissapointed after more details about the game are shown at E3.

I think it's going to be very mixed reactions with the audiences. Apparently some people haven't moved on with the leaked list despite it have been out for like two weeks.

It's like the shift of RE from Action back to Horror. People had months to just "get over it". But not everyone plays these games for the same reason. Some of us are just there for a new fighting game, some for their favorite characters, or any multitude of other things. The expectations of what someone want's for $60 dollar is always going to be a bit different depending on the person. Especially on the more casual side of things where characters play a HUGE part over most other things.

I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but I think Ryses list was bull shit to throw us off. I just want to believe.

I don't think anyone's really going to move on. A lot of people are already letting Capcom know how they feel online, so I don't expect it to end anytime soon.

Ryce's roster is the real roster, and you will get fuck all at E3.

Youll get like 2-4 more reveals at best, they will pretend the leak never happened, and slowly reveal the rest until september,

If my theory of a bait and switch is incorrect, this is how I'd imagine they handle the situation.

The research was on all the DLC we're gonna get and what will get them the most money there.

Should be fine then. Back in the SFV threads people were arguing that DLC characters counted as "included characters" because they wanted to say the leaked list that included Alex and Urien was correct so all the PR statements should be fine with that logic.

To be fair, the voice recordings for Alex & Urien's VAs (as well as the rest of Season 1) likely went down around the same time as (or shortly after) when the base roster's voice actors did their lines, especially when you factor in the Cinematic Story Mode. That may have been how the Destructoid leak happened.

Destructoid probably had good reasons for getting the info wrong. Capcom might have shifted the characters or maybe they had info on the recording like you mentioned.

It doesn't change the fact that the leak was wrong and the meaning of words doesn't change just because you need it to in order to be right about something.

Outdated info would be a more accurate term, much like what happened with the Gematsu leak for Smash 4.

They can start the trailer with a character that wasn't on the leak, just to see it end like "get him/her as part of the 2017 season pass"

Just expecting the worst hahah.

People claimed the leak was still accurate and that they were "included as DLC".

So there shouldn't be any complaints about characters not being included if they're released later as DLC.

Only if they like dbz... I wish someone would do a fighting game based on just anime characters. Guyver, akira, vampire hunter, ghost in the shell, ninja scroll, transor z vs American characters like thunder cats,he man, silver hawks, tiger sharks, brave star g i Joe .... now that would be a vs game.

The licensing on all that would be what would kill it.

That's like a million different companies and their IPs.

Jump Super Stars comes to mind in cases like this. Battle Stadium DON too. The licensing is definitely the killer here.

Not really as all of those characters showed up in the Shonen Jump magazine in Japan. DON, too. It didn't come out in the US because those characters are all licensed by different companies.

Wait. I just realized that NA got Jump Stars Victory. And I have it.

I should've worded it better as I was referring to the US regarding the licensing issue. Good to know about Jump Stars Victory.

Yeah, at the time, I think the major issue was Atari was the sole publisher of Dragon Ball games in the West. Since they folded, Bandai Namco got the rights to publish outside of Japan, so that made it easier.

That makes sense. Atari made too many shitty decisions lol. I should check the game (Victory) out sometime since I missed it.

What you want to see:
Off the leak: I'm hoping to see Black Panther revealed at E3 because it would make sense to start marketing him right after his teaser releases. Panther/Haggar/Iron Fist/Jin or something like that

On the leak: I'm hoping to see...probably Ant Man and Dante? Spider-man too

Show me Jedah and let me know if Gamora's using her shitty movie design or her sick Now design.

I also want my suspicions of the leaked list only being the E3/CEO build and not the final roster to be confirmed.

If Ryce's full leaked list was the entire playable roster for the E3 build, that would be insane.

By the way, do we know if Capcom-Unity will host a live stream of demo gameplay like the good ol' days of MvC3?
