Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster Discussion Thread

Arcsys pumps out too many fighters for that to happen, I expect a persona 5 arena using the xrd engine as well within the next 1-2 years.

If a game has staying power it will continue to be at Evo. Marvel and Smash proves that.

A new persona won't take the spotlight off dbz if the game is genuinely good.

Speaking of RE7: I genuinely don't understand how Jack Baker isn't in the roster. Don't they want to get that game more exposure with the upcoming DLC?
I'd imagine that the game wasn't very far along when the base roster was decided, like how we got Crimson Viper over Juri in Vanilla MvC3 (since Juri wasn't a thing during MvC3's development).

What exactly would be the difference between a Beta and demo?

I guess Demo is more old school thing? Like you just have two or 3 characters and play against the CPU or some Demos might have VS mode. Demos are usually just there on the store forever.

A Beta(Usually timed) would be one where they allow you to play online with most of the roster ( or whoever is complete at the time ). The company also takes note of player feedback to update Balance,Netcode issues..etc.

Hmm you are right , I do remember getting that Xrd Demo. Just seems so weird for MvC to suddenly get a Demo and not a Beta test. Considering MKX,SFV and IJ2 all had them.

there is some serious "5 stages of grief" going on in this thread :p

deffinately some denial and bargaining from some people.

If Sony has the marketing for this then I'm 80/20 on them announcing the beta during E3 and giving codes out to theater attendees like me

So when y'all lookin' for codes and I swipe all the lanyards come holla at your boy, 75$ each

MvCI lanyards would be really cool, and I hope it happens at the E3 Sony theatre thing

I hope that Dragon Ball game is VERY close to an MVC... Because even if I dont play it, it incites Capcom to get their **** together. #Competition

Well, it's all the same to me. I just wanna get the game in my hands.

I know Rev 2 had a demo with every character unlocked a month ago, but a beta would make more sense to test out its stableness and stuff.

Yall are nutty, 28 character demo/beta 😂

Temper those expectations due to Capcom. I'll take my crow flambe if that's what's in store. Feel like Ryce got a good chunk of info and that the best we can expect is rounding out the roster with DLC. Could see a small demo or beta

Marvel fans are second to only Smash fans in the self inflicted highs and falls.

To everybody saying a full roster beta is unrealistic, just remember that two of SFV's four pre-release betas had the full roster playable.

Did you all bump your heads and forget the sfv demo?
Edit: beta test kinda the same to me

Nope in fact I referred to the SFV beta specifically in my earlier posts

If this was a beta then there's a chance ryce leaked list was for the beta. But I really doubt a traditional demo would have so many characters .

It would be great news if the leak was from the demo/beta rather than the entire base roster, but I won't hold my breath on that though...

The big red flag I have that tells me the roster won't be bigger is Sigma as DLC. If the roster was bigger, I feel like he'd be there

This is why I'm confident we're going to have the abysmally small roster. Sigma, who seems to be a key story character, is DLC. That's a telltale sign.

Yeah, that's enough to confirm a small roster.

If any character should've been in the base, it should've been Sigma. I still don't understand the choice to make him DLC, but it's Capcom.

I think this is one of the bigger things working for a smaller roster too. My main thing working against Ryce is those statements about the heritage, and porting only select characters, but it's obviously safer to trust Ryce than Capcom, as we've learned over the years.

I doubt we'll get a 28-character demo, but that would be a huge surprise (as would be a 40-45 character roster).

The list doesn't have Sigma so unlikely tho.

It's all good. DLC characters are still considered "included".

Really interesting story from a Reddit user. Apparently Capcom is well aware of Ryce and are focusing really hard on the story mode as appears to the roster

-All 6 of the first wave DLC characters will be making an appearance in the story in some form, while the only character the player can actually fight is an incomplete version of Sigma.

-Zero is a part of the story mode, Johnny Yong Bosch apparently returning to voice the character. It's not made clear if he's a playable character.

These are the two most interesting bits. So we should have an idea of the full season much like we had with SFV. On the same hand I doubt Zero would be in the first season. So he could be like Abel was in SFV. In the game as a model and nothing more.....for now.
