My biggest hope is that my B52 bomber boi is in this with his classic god tier theme

Yeeess. I will never forget my first time seeing Bazelgeuse. I was doing an expedition in the rotten vale and suddenly the music starts and I see this dude flying in from out of no where. He was SO BIG he didn't fit in the stage well. He was easily a giant crown. I've never seen another one that big. I was so shocked by his arrival that he fucking flattened my unprepared ass instantly. Such a cool moment. His theme is so sick.

I checked out some trailers for this game and it looks so similar to world. Even graphically it's barely a step forward and the performance apparently is poor because of RE engine not being well suited to open world.

I think Monster Hunter is a great series but this game doesn't seem to do anything new, and in some ways takes a step back (it seems some GPUs will display world much better than wilds). Also the new monsters they've added are not overly impressive. Might be a Dragons Dogma 2 situation, though I hope not.

I agree with everything you said, and it’s still a day 1 for me.

Even a “bad” Monster Hunter game is better then 90% of what’s available on the market.

Seems like there really could be no Elder Dragons this time around in the base game. And unless they're holding up many surprises for the end which I find unlikely, the monster list will be on the smaller side. I little disappointing, but I saw it coming.

Is this serous post? EVERY new Monster Hunter they introduced new mechanics.

Also in Monster Hunter world they give us seamless map and in Wilds you can travel in different biomes without any loading.

Gore Magala isn't an Elder Dragon until he becomes Shagaru Magala.
Sure, there is always good chance we get Shagaru Magala either from free title update or its expansion.

I personally happy to see little more focus on none Elder Dragon monsters because I feel World/Iceborne gone little overboard with them.

Personally I could never get into MH games. Tried a few of them but didnt last long.

There was always something cumbersome or awkward and it seemed that I always needed 5 of this thing and 10 of those things before I could go back to fight?

Have they improved on that? Streamlined to the good bits?

If you expecting for this game to play like your typical action game or action RPG then no MH is not that type of game.

Uh I don't know... Things like the "gather XY" - missions, or the Egg carrying etc were kinda funny the first time you saw them but they got really old and tedious veeery fast. I'm not sad to see them go
MH is all about gathering materials, either from the monsters or from the map.

Nonsense. Monster Hunter is about monster hunting... It's literally in the name. These quirky distractions were always a bit overdone especially when you had to repeat them in multiple ranks.

I can accept that not every game is for me. But Capcom always advertise these games with combat gameplay, which looks great, but it feels like that before you get to that awesome gameplay you need to spend time doing trivial stuff.

Hunting requires materials to craft potions, max potion, antidote, pitfall traps and other tools for hunting.

And doing gathering side quests will give you rewards that will hep on your next hunt.

That doesn't make them any less boring. I always avoided them like the plague or jumped into multiplayer to speed run them
and got all the necessary non monster parts from the farm and the traders. Wasting time scurrying around for fucking nets or trying not to drop a fusestone while walking slowly across the map several times per rank while I could just as well bonk an elder dragon with a giant sword instead always felt stupid.

That’s your choice if you want to avoid them. But when I go hunting strong monster I want to have enough materials to craft mega potion and max potion when run out of them during the hunt.

Farm+ traders and you never need to go on a gathering hunt for that.

Then I don’t see the problem, if you don't want to do gathering quest then don’t.
The problem is that this boring stuff always was part of the questbook. This tedious garbage is usually necessary to unlock more farm spots , higher tier pendants or food categories.... Stuff like that.
they were up to a point never really optional.... And they were never any fun and felt like padding to me.
I was really happy to hear that this stuff is supposedly drastically reduced or completely gone in wilds.

If you mean mining I usually do that while I'm hunting monsters, the only time I felt it was tedious was in the Iceborne's Guiding Lands because the way mining works in there you have to mine same biomes several times to increase its level then it will drops rare material you need for your gears.

No I don't mean the mining, even though the RND behind that is also something that I personally think is more tedious padding than fun. I'm talking about the tier unlocks for the farm, food supply etc that were often gated behind these boring quests. I don't care about the purely optional fetch quests, because as you said, those can be ignored. But why do quests like "walk slowly with an egg across the map 3 times to unlock a new food category exist"? They are just no fun and are not really optional

I think to upgrade food tiers they should have you fight Khezu 100 times. High tier food should require you to fight Gold Rajang 200 times. :messenger_sunglasses:

Instead of being an app on the system you, have to go through hoops to connect.

It's better than nothing, but still sucks.
You did at first, now it's just listed like a party chat with my other ps5 parties. I've just joined one in 3 button presses.
