Very excited for my first MH game. Now I just need to decide what weapon to pick…
Check out some Youtube "which weapon for you" videos to help find your answer. Especially if you missed out on the betas and are completely fresh. Here's one uploaded a few days ago.Very excited for my first MH game. Now I just need to decide what weapon to pick…
I personally really like their release schedules when it comes to their expansion. It gives me enough time to fully enjoy high rank and complete my build before master rank gets released instead of rushing to get to it.I also feel a bit tired of their formula when it comes to release schedule, we really only get half the full experience until they release a huge expansion with extra ranks and everything, so I will probably wait until that is out to jump into this one.

I played the entire Monster Hunter World/Iceborne solo and never touched multiplayer.Pardon the noob question - I don't know much about the series - but is Monster Hunter primarily focused on multiplayer, with SP being sort of a tacked-on, subordinate function? Or is the SP robust enough to make it worthwhile for someone who just plays that mode?
I wouldn't say either mode is "tacked on", both methods are perfectly viable methods of play; heck I would argue that getting familiar with the monster by yourself so you don't drag down the team in mp is the preferred approach.Pardon the noob question - I don't know much about the series - but is Monster Hunter primarily focused on multiplayer, with SP being sort of a tacked-on, subordinate function? The monsters get more health if there are more people but you can do it solo. Back when I played them, certain monsters were better to do solo because people would die to them online and wasting 20 minutes because of someone else sucked.Pardon the noob question - I don't know much about the series - but is Monster Hunter primarily focused on multiplayer, with SP being sort of a tacked-on, subordinate function? Anyone here console/game share to play with friends n family? I preordered this and downloaded everything on my main console first... a bajillion separate downloads for the ultimate version. Next i went to download for the wifey and it only shows the base game and like two cosmetics? They gate keeping all the preorder stuff to the main person who purchased? Shoot my wife gonna be jealous haha. I'll go to game/manage and see if anything else pops up after i get hers installed i guess.

Honestly i have a hard time to hit 150+ hours even on my favorite games.

For old schoolers/series vets in this thread, Gaijin Hunter put up his review/impressions. Some interesting stuff from the vantage point of someone that's been playing the series for a long time.
Same.At this point I’m not watching anything else, I’ve seen enough and want to experience the rest blind for myself.
one of these guys, not sure if it's him or another MH creator, has the most obnoxious voice / personality... just insufferable lol. i never watched guide stuff, but i do enjoy general commentary. but i wince clicking on vids hoping it wont be that dude. cant recall if it's gaijin or not.Same.
I hope Gaijin Hunter does his weapon tutorial videos again. I can honestly say I wouldn't even be playing Monster Hunter if he hadn't made them back in the day. So helpful.
Gaijin's got kind of a soft spoken voice, but it never struck me as annoying or anything. If anything, he always provides chill videos. I don't really care about that part though, his tutorials are great and really help you learn the ins and outs of a weapon, including all combo branches, motion values, etc.one of these guys, not sure if it's him or another MH creator, has the most obnoxious voice / personality... just insufferable lol. i never watched guide stuff, but i do enjoy general commentary. but i wince clicking on vids hoping it wont be that dude. cant recall if it's gaijin or not.
I changed my mind too. I'm gonna go IG main but now I don't know if I'll do Bow or CB as sub. Only problem is that IG always feels shitty early game because they give you SUPER fucking slow bugs until High Rank. Still, I'm going to try a ground-focused IG this time. I liked the moveset from the beta.At first I was gonna go with Bow as my 2nd weapon but I think I’m gonna go with Hammer.
I’m gonna use LS on monsters who do have tail and can be cut while use Hammer on monster who don’t have tails or their tails cannot be cut.

Yeah same, and something he said in this video really helped: the idea that "easy" means room for error, meaning room for experimenting and fun builds.thanks for this...
edit: unlike everyone else, the more i hear about all these 'change's, the more interested i'm getting, to my great surprise. i've always loved this series, but up till the last couple days, i'd been thinking i'd had enough, & sorta lost interest. but, suddenly, not so much, it'd seem...
playing through rise as a bit of prep, also since I barely touched sunbreak, might as well finish up and get back into the hunting vibe.
This is my biggest concern after hearing some impressions. It's like Wirebug Fall Pro Max™. I don't mind that casual players have an option to get out of trouble, but to make it essentially free/unlimited leaves a sour taste in my mouth. They're never going to learn timing and risk/reward if they can just i-frame out of any bad situation. It should be seen/built as a tool to allow for a learning curve to figuring out when moves are/are not safe. They've really gone too far by taking away the knock down penalty. SuperRad's review says you can now whistle for your mount when you get wrecked, and the sequence renders you invincible with no penalty. Just wow...
He also said one could hop on the mount and do unlimited high jumps on monsters which will likely add to spamming that repeatedly for a quicker kill.Ammy best Palamute skin.

What this probably means is that they're going to add mount catches (delayed homing moves to capture people using it too liberally). That's fine, but I'd rather it just be a limited usage learning tool.
Yeah that’s disappointing, always liked games with unique language like Shadow of Colossus/ICO, Gravity Rush and Monster Hunter.
That fuckin' sucks. I admit I don't use MH language much, but I liked having the option. Maybe if we have a big enough bitch fit they'll add it in.
I used wyverian l voices for entirely of my World/Icborne playthrough I was hoping they would do same here. That fuckin' sucks. I admit I don't use MH language much, but I liked having the option. Maybe if we have a big enough bitch fit they'll add it in.
are you in the future?Guess I'm playing this tomorrow![]()
