Nevada Rancher and Right Wing Hero Cliven Bundy Says Some Things About 'The Negro'

Sean Hannity will be on The Five on Fox News in 30 minutes to get his side of the story out. He couldn't wait until 10 p.m. apparently.

Somewhere a Desert Tortoise is laughing.

Glad to see that someone is there to defend the white man that's taken out of context!

I didn't listen to Hannity's radio program, so maybe the answer is already out there, but what I'm wondering is will he go cold turkey and disavow Bundy completely and stop promoting this cause, or will he go the whole "I find his racist comments repugnant and indefensible BUT..." route.

I mean he can't just drop this and slink back into his old routine and think no one will notice, it's only been his whole show for weeks now. Maybe we'll get lucky and Roger Ailes will pull Hannity into his office and give him the Dick Morris treatment. Do some vetting next time Hannity.

Might as well ask this here.

What was the case FOR Bundy's continued use of the grazing land (and presumable the case that the gov't shouldn't charge him for that usage)?

I'm not clear on the reasons being given in his defense.

I'm guessing the latter. "Look, obviously this is repugnant... but don't let the liberals distract you from the real issue, which is an overreaching federal government etc etc"

You can listen to Hannity's comments here: http://www.mediaite.com/online/sean-hannity-on-bundy-negro-remarks-beyond-repugnant-to-me/

But yes, it is basically what Cyan just posted

He doesn't recognize the Federal Government and believes only the local sheriff has authority over those lands (which the Federal Government took from Mexico). If you're asking for a valid legal case, there is none.

If he doesn't recognize the federal government, then why should he be allowed Constitutional protections? The Constitution is a federal construct, after all...

(Yes, I know he gets Constitutional protection for being on US soil, believer or not. Not sure he deserves it though.)

Cause he wanted to continue to graze and didn't feel he should have to pay. The end.

What the actual fuck?

Why are conservatives defending this guy for not paying his bills? It's not his fucking land. I thought right wing was supposed to be all about property rights, not entitlement to public goods.

Have the vocal pundits (like Hannity) articulated an actual defense of why he should be exempted from rule of law?

I thought I heard some story that he had a grazing arrangement with the state, prior to the federal government taking over jurisdiction of the land, and he's trying to argue that his previous arrangement should be grandfathered in. Isn't he claiming his family has been there since the 1800's?

He claimed that and he lied. His family started grazing there 9 years after the BML came into existence.

Dude, govament, it doesn't matter if we do not have the facts on our side. Govament.

Hannity, Fox, et al. completely ignore the facts on the issue, they just keep heating up the govament takeover, over and over again.

BS claim by Bundy is BS.

See: http://www4.8newsnow.com/docs/2014/bundy/deed.pdf (This is the Land Deed of the Bundy family buying the land in 1948. Not the 1800's)

my cake, fuck off
The Bundy backers are really sweating now. Saw some dude on youtube a few days ago comparing him to Rosa Parks and using it as a defense against Bundy being racist. Wonder if he will respond to this interview.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I for one am deeply saddened that a patriotic attempt at government insurrection would somehow end up so ugly.

You seem to be under the misapprehension that all conservatives have their views due to a core set of high-minded principles that they uphold.

Although there are some of those. There are an awful lot of them that just seem to want whatever makes them the most money, whatever is the opposite of what Obama wants to do, whatever their religious leader tells them, whatever lets them keep their guns, etc.

I've made a sort of morbid hobby out of listening to AM talk radio and of all the goobers on there Hannity truly stands out. He's really no different than the others but he trades a bit of their angry bombast for cocksure self-righteousness with a smile. He's the used car salesman of conversative talk.

Don't you know? It ain't welfare if you're white. It's just 'Murica giving a subsidy to a poor, oppressed job creator.

A disgusting, racist pig of a job creator.

Well this is certainly a novel strategy Fox News is trying out, I'll have to admit. Have Hannity guest star on The Five and then not mention the Bundy thing at all. We'll just forget about it. It never happened.

Maybe no one noticed.

Through redlining, Las Vegas—sometimes called "the Mississippi of the West" at the time—pushed black residents west across the railroad lines and away from what would become the Strip. Black musicians in the 1940s and 1950s like Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald couldn't sleep or eat in the casinos where they performed. A manager at the New Frontier drained all the water from his whites-only swimming pool after Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr. took a swim in it one night. Although singer Lena Horne was allowed to stay at the Flamingo when she performed there, management burned her sheets and towels after she checked out.

.

Wait, what? I thought they hated poor white folk too? Or do they just hate you more if you're black as well as poor?
poor white people need jobs, help them get jobs and bring jobs back to america!

poor minorities should probably spend less time complaining and go get some jobs.

No, you're allowed to leech and mooch off the government as much as you want as long as you're a Republican.
