Someone modded Ashley's panties as a charm.
That is kind of cute :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Dumbass me completely forgot about how GYR herbs increase the overall health. I've been using some herbs without that in mind :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Duude, that's an option? Wish I'd known haha. Thanks.
It is an option, but just like RE2remake you have to purchase it.
It's cheap anyway so it's not a big deal.
Shame the RE7/8 team didn't think we wanted it with RE3remake.

The suplex def isn't gone, it's just super strong so you have to work a bit harder for it; just run behind them to perform the melee after dropping an enemy to their knees. First thing I tried tbh.

Also there is a way to stagger enemies so they drop to their knees while turning around as well; I'm not sure if it's rng or requires a specific sequence (leg first then head?)
I mean in the original he was standing up jackie chan way and I loved it so much now is standing up like me lol. It's just my thing by the way a personal preference

Sorry bud. But think if it this way, doing Professional on a Fresh NG is it's own challenge, so even though you have to playthrough again, the challenge should be fun in it's own right.

Just an FYI if ever you decide to go for S+ Rank on Professional to get the Infinite Ammo accessory, you have to do Professional on a fresh new game, beat it under 5.5 hours, and you must limit yourself to 15 saves or less. But! You can use Bonus Weapons you've acquired.
How are "bonus weapons" defined? Can I use the infinite rocket launcher to get S+ on Pro? I was having trouble Googling a straight answer

As far as I'm aware it's the Handcannon, Chicago Sweeper, and Primal Knife. The Infinite Rocket Launcher *might* be a bonus weapon, but that's the only one I'm not 100% certain on.

Finished this last night. Loved it.

2 years ago, I had never played a single Resident Evil game, but over the last 2 years I've decided to change that. I've played RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake, RE4 Remake, RE5, RE6, RE VII, and RE Village. Still have to play the original RE (and maybe 0 and Code Veronica).

So far, I'd rank them as such, with no nostalgia for the franchise:
  1. Resident Evil 2
  2. Resident Evil Village
  3. Resident Evil 4
  4. Resident Evil VII
  5. Resident Evil 3
  6. Resident Evil 5
  7. Resident Evil 6

Just finished it. Took me a total of 23 hours, on PC. What an amazing remake. Tight, linear single player game that is lengthy but perfectly paced and not boring at all? What year is it?

While the graphics weren't the best, the atmosphere and art more than made up for it. And it looked absolutely great on the OLED (G2) due to its many dark and contrasty areas.

Finally, shout out to Ashley's voice actress. She did a phenomenal job with every line and grunt and shreek they gave her.

Ive gotten over the IQ issues on PS, still looks good on a general basis but man, whenever you zoom in with the rifle scope its really rough and blurry

Good lore video on the remake.

It goes over the original RE4, how the new game’s lore expands upon all of it, how it connects to RE 5, how it connects to darkside chronicles, and how there was a detail most people missed in the game’s final scene that indicates we might get an RE 5 remake.

Do you need to get all the stocks as well for the All Guns trophy? Or can I just get the Red9, Mathilda, etc. without them?

Awesome. (If anyone can confirm, though, that'd be great.)

Not having to do any more requests for Spinels would be very liberating.

Next patch is supposedly going to fix a bug in chapter 12 where for some players it doesn't give them a key item needed to progress.

I'm on chapter 11 right now.

Is there a way to get infinite ammo for all weapons? I messed around with it in Village for a little while before ultimately getting bored. Would consider doing a 2nd playthrough again if you can do it.

I think it should be an unlocked feature on all RE games for 2nd playthroughs if you want.

You can get infinite ammo with one of the special weapons by fully upgrading it, ot alternatively you can unlock infinite ammo for all weapons by unlocking the cat ears.. Which takes finishing the game on Professional with an S+ rank.

I'm stumbling upon a lot of chests which need a key in the very early areas. What's the deal? #help?

Cleared my Professional S+ run last night with 14 minutes to spare.

Thank God I managed my saves well and was able to save one last time before the final boss. Not that Saddler was hard at all (I just sold everything and bought the RL), but I had to redo the jetski part like 5 times because one little tap is all it takes to crash on Professional :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Edit: Also, I tried to do the Golden Egg Salazar trick but I fucking MISSED with the egg. FML. Still managed to beat him but I'm still upset about missing the egg lol

You'll find a wayshrine key eventually and will have to backtrack to pick up all of that, same for the locked cabinets and drawers, once you pick small keys you'll get access.

For the locked barn you need to go back there with Ashley.

I see. That's what I was wondering about regarding if backtracking was a thing. Thanks man.

There are some points of no return though so be careful, when you get to the abandoned factory and valley areas I'd recommend trying to pick up every treasure as you won't be able to get back there later. Same for chapter 4 when the game gets a bit more open, you'll want to do all the side stuff before advancing.

Hmm. There's a treasure in a house in the village which I cant find a way in. And a second one before the appearance of the 2nd merchant (looks like a factory)

If you have the deluxe version, the treasures marked with + are usually hanging things that you have to shoot, so always look up.

The locked house in the village is the one you need to go back with ashley after you rescue her. (Therell be a quest about a savage mutt unlocked).

Yeah thats the factory, where the merchant is and you have to kill the rats

I don't understand these coins I have so many dupes but man I love this game. Gonna do so many runs.

Think I'll do a quick normal run again to try and get all guns owned plus upgraded as much as possible. Then onto hard-core.

This is an incredible remake.

A few cool things I discovered:

- there's a beetle on the wall of the bass pond in the castle. It's a consumable that sells for a lot of money
- if you blow up the mine shaft rocks with a rocket but go to get the TNT anyway, you'll be able to sell it to the merchant

Also:

- I think Ashley's VA does a terrific job, but this specific line reading has made me do audible LOLs a few times now. She sounds drunk af:

- I can't wait to play this in VR, as seeing those legs fly towards the camera had me in absolute stitches. Sheer comedy, IMHO:

I'm playing on XSX on resolution mode without RT. Has anyone noticed this bug? Each time I open the Map or the Inventory, when I return to the game, all textures are low res during a second or two.

This is how it looks during gameplay:

And this just after closing the Inventory or the Map, but only during one or two seconds:

Not a glitch. Happens all the time to me too and in literally every video I've watched. This is some of that lack of polish im talking about. And one of the myriad of reasons why I said the game shipped unfinished. How places like DF and other tech review sites say nothing about these things is beyond me.

I wish J.J. was the same GIJoe reject he was from the '05 version. Now he has a bull helmet, with a weird turret thing on his arm.

Uh! OK. Less effort, I suppose.

Just completed it. Took me a bit more than 20 hours. Did take my sweet time with it.

Simply a marvel of a game. Probably the best Remake Capcom has done so far. My only gripes are:

- Ashley is more annoying than in the original (I wish there was an option to leave her behind)
- The game is too dark at time and I don't understand why it's not possible to toggle the flashlight.
- Story lacks the originals campiness and therefore hasn't much going for it.

Last point bugged me the most. But I figured that is a general problem with the Remakes/VII/Village. Can't really put my finger on it but the storytelling is not doing anything to me. Saddler, Salazar, Luis and Ashley were much more memorable in the original. Didn't really care for anyone here. Also, the ending makes me a bit worried for the future. I was hoping for extensive rewrites going on but after the stunts in the final section it doesn't really look like anything will be changed when they get to RE6 again. Such a shame.

Loved how Capcom toyed with fans of the original by moving around certain sections and almost every section that was remade felt a tad bit better than in the original. Outstanding! Shame that ones boss fight was cut though but in the end it's ok I guess. Could have been worse.

Oh yeah, putting an additional stock in there was a marvelous idea. This makes the game even more replayable than the original. Finally a game again that put replayability before the bloat. THANK YOU Capcom.

First of all. I loved the (bolt action) sniper rifle in RE4. Last night I choose to upgrade the knive but I started over this morning. So secondly. Is it worth it getting it so soon or should I wait.. I really feel like exploding some rotten heads.

Yeah, I found out the RPG on the blockade thing out of curiosity. Also, you can skip the entire wrecking ball fight by blowing the wall up with a heavy grenade. Doesn't work with the RPG, curiously.

Did a tiny bit more optimizing settings and:
fsr1,2,interlacing - off. native 4k looks the best. fsr1 after than if you need performance.
Shadows max to high. Max looks a bit sharper but you free 1gb of vram for potentially more textures

RT off - just looks bad and breaks performance
Screen space reflections - 10 fps cost for terrible shimmery reflections. Looks better off anyway.
Hair strands - can look good but not worth another 10fps.

Assuming it just became available at the abandoned factory, absolutely. It will help with a boss fight before the castle a lot.

I got to the Island after a marathon session yesterday. It took me a long time to decide what to use the upgrade ticket on. Ended up going Riot Gun and here's my logic: That thing gets up to 19 damage with the bonus, which makes your shotgun a mid range 10 shot magnum with readily available ammo. Makes short work of some of the harder enemies you'll run into later in the game. I couldn't see using the ticket on a Magnum that I'd only be using for a few shots on the hardest bosses. Plus, if there's one small quibble, it's that the bosses are just a bit too easy (playing on Normal).

Riot is good but the first shotgun got the most power with the ticket !
