Shpeshal Nick of Xbox Era claims Switch 2 is $449 ($500 for Mario Kart bundle)

Big if true.
I'd wait for quite a lot of games and probably another iteration at that price.

While I've owned every Nintendo console, they've always been secondary to others, so I don't mind the wait.

I think being too high is going to be a mistake. I think 400 would be the safe bet. It will definitely sell out at first but for the long run, some will think twice at that price or not buy multiples.

I thought the Switch 1 was going to bomb at $300 given they had to emergency price cut the 3DS from $249 to $169 after only a few months due to disastrous sales. $449/$500 again sounds like suicide given the rumored shitty LCD and being at the absolute lowest range of compute power expectations, but that may just be my boomer dollar valuations not keeping up with just how far inflation has diluted us. Maybe the half retarded kids earning $25/hr at Mcdonalds consider that a bargain.

$450 was my guess, $100 more than the OLED which I think sounds reasonable given how expensive the current Switch still is - warranted or not.

Not sure about the Mario Kart bundle thing though. I’d expect them to charge $70 for the game, so I could see the bundle being >$500. But I guess they might go lower to push hard early on.

Hypothetically, if it is $499, how do you feel about that? Ultimately, would it stop you from buying Switch 2?
It’s the price of Lenovo Go S which will almost surely massively outperform the Switch 2.
Which won’t mean jack shit because Nintendo has one of the most valuable IPs on this planet.

April direct to June release seems too soon. I’m not expecting it before September.
If they’re following the Switch formula June seems likely. And the timeline seems pretty much identical.

Switch 1
Reveal trailer: t (October 2016)
Software presentation: t+3 (January 2017)
Release date: t+5 (March 2017)

Switch 2
Reveal trailer: t (January 2025)
Software presentation: t+3 (April 2025)
Release date: t+5 (June 2025)

If that's the price Switch 2 loses another "Christmas Gift" point
It's not anymore something new to gift to a kid (it's a more of the same console)
It doesn't have anymore a "gift price"

That's a lot of sold units

I don't know, it seems too much. I haven't been paying too much atention to the switch 2. What does the console bring that's new? It will be just better graphics? Nintendo has never been about graphics.
By looking at the pictures it looks just like a switch with different colors.
