The gunplay looks SO fucking weak - I genuinely can’t believe the same developers made the Division games. Those huge bright red hit markers look like something out of a cheap mobile game 🤮

That's why I don't give a damn about studio names anymore, Div 2 was 5 years ago and we can't assume it's the same people.
Likely a lot of talent left. We keep seeing this happen over and over, big name studio with big previous releases bringing out new stuff that is backwards in design.

We'll see how it really is though, I can't say until I've played it myself.

Ill give it a fair shot because I think Im still on the hook with my Ubi+ subscription.... but I dunno it looks a little bland. That gunplay doesn't scream excitement, it looks pretty stiff or something.

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
With the first showing I believed the game could be a looker, star wars with next gen visuals but it's looking worse and worse with every new video that's released...

Did they accidentally give IGN an old build for that video? I can't believe it's been downgraded so much. Was really holding out hope for this one, despite the ugly protag.

Not a fan of the main character or her dumb little spider thing, but that IGN video showing a fetch quest for Jawas.... I could play shit like that all day. Yes it's dumb and simple, but that's what Star Wars should be. Everyone is right about the graphics, they keep getting worse. I don't know, I feel the pull, must resist. Give it a couple of weeks after release and we should have some mods going.

I thought it had already been concluded that the game is actually NOT open world? More like "wide" environments on each planet?

I gotta be honest here, it doesn't look bad to me graphic wise... and except for the explosion, the real problem is that she talks like a teenager, I can't stand it.

The character rendering here looks really good, but yeah the outdoor environment sections (excluding the characters) is bad like there's literally almost no lighting at all in some shots; Some of these environments in the game need way more bounces of light.
The game is supposed to have ray tracing and ray reconstruction, yet its doesnt seem like its used here for global illumination, reflections, nor shadows.

Hard to tell if its downgrade or if theyve been showing maxed out PC footage before and IGN are the first to show console footage and in performance mode.

Even if the game had those technologies the lacking aspect for me is in the style of the art for a Star Wars title. The current style this game is using doesn't have micro levels of texture detailing and meshing; The way the levels are lit from light sources is also meh, just boring (color space included). In the cutscenes though you can see the big tech jump, but the art style is still present from earlier I mention.

Writes a lot, says very little
It will be a solid 7.
I'll give it a chance.

Truth. I'm ok with a 7 or 8 game tbh lol

Not everything is going to be a 10, but not everything NEEDS to be a 10.

For those crying over graphics and effects, it looks good enough to me to convey what they are going for and I'm more so buying for the sum of all of its parts. The worlds, the exploration, how the systems tie in like ships, vehicles, cop system, black market, bounties etc.

You would think they’ll make a battle royale for Star Wars, I would actually be down for that.

thank you... it's a family-oriented sci-fi fantasy adventure game set in the world of a family-oriented sci-fi fantasy space opera. being a '1080 forever' kinda guy, & someone who isn't especially concerned with whether or not a sci-fi fantasy adventure game based on a property featuring storm-trooper-demolishing ewoks is 'believable' or not, i'm thinking the game looks just fine (well, other than her hair, of course)...

It's going to be a solid 7 great fun and if it sells well there will be a sequel with another engine and more polished. Just like jedi survivor.

So this is from the first gameplay they showed. I still don't comprehend what kind of punching style this is. Is there really that much force in a backhand punch?

What's the point of wearing helmets 100% of the time if that kind of blow knocks you out :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I feel like they changed the lead midway through the game from a badass protag to a DEI approved by committee generic one.

I wish the main character was trained as either Jedi or Sith. The environments look really good in snippets. I just don’t care about the non force users all that much. And she looks like a Han Solo wannabe to make Disney people green light it.

Well she's a small woman so there's no way she can choke him out. Totally unrealistic.

Just tells me this game should have ben on unreal engine 5 . These company based engines just don't cut it. The only smart company to move was cdred. They even outlined it this week why they did it. But the other companies don't care and care about profits more then quality of their product

I’ve always liked the Unreal Engine, in the right developer hands it addresses my problem that I have with videogames especially for today which is gameplay rendering along with the controls. How the developer FOV the game, detail and light their textures, draw objects ect. Epic Games work with the engine have always been leagues above almost everybody else where it matters; Their games are the very few titles out here that can actually immerse me when I’m controlling and playing it, I grew up on this. Other mentions for me is old id software work as well man.

If CD Project can understand this concept then I will probably buy their next game and won’t uninstall it in 2 minutes like I did the original Witcher.

The average looking (let's be honest here ugly is a bit too far aside from cherry piked shots) femsolo is the female equivalent of the male Piranha Bytes hero. Either way she's the least of this game's problems. It's the braindead gameplay that's a turnoff. I read a gameplay preview where the journalist who played it had to go on a stealth mission but they broke stealth and had zero consequence doing so, guards having horse blinder line of sight, dumb AI and weak weaponry allowing her to easily overpower all of them going rambo with just the basic blaster. That unsold me on the game.

This is unfeasible for any scale of development. No Man's Sky proves that unless you have meaningful content crafted by hand each of those planets will get old fast.
