No kidding... Kiunch is a beast... He got much better since we last fought (last week) and he went like 11-3 or something.

He adapts really fast... I would change tactics, beat him a round, and he would've adapted by then. At least I started to fall less for the random air DDs by the end of the night

Man GGs Proto. I have no problem fightin Kiunch but I think i beat yer RA like twice..... I need to play against her more.

We have the bare minimum, 16, for each console. This will go in different levels... from 16-20-24-28-32 as each pool has a max of four players. The double bracket will have Byes if it isn't a 16 or 32 player tournament though.

I'll be down to enter on the PSN side

thanks to people who answered my questions, it was a lot of funt o play the games but it was somewhat frustrated online.

Just keep at it man. I was horrible at first, and I got knocked around by spammers pretty hard. Now I can actually keep up with mid-level dustloop players, and even GAF players(I'm coming for you Grifter!).

I had the chance to play with Grifter and other quality players. Needless to say, I walked away with my head hung low. :lol :lol

Thanks for the games though everyone.

Any recommendations for 360 v. PS3? I have a FightPad for both. It looks like the LE is still available for 360 on Amazon and the PS3 standard edition is backordered (no LE available, either). For some reason I prefer to play fighting games on PS3...

I got two or three in. Then Timedog requested me to play some SFIV. ha. Sorry about that. I remember singing "one of these is not like the others" cause all of you fellows were at least in the high 20's and I was down there at rank 12.

If you have a pad on both it shouldn't really matter. The advantage I gave to the PS3 when deciding was that my friends could at least use the dualshock or Saturn USB pads and not be frustrated with the 360 pad if we were playing local multi (though apparently the 360 pad isn't as bad for BB as it is for SF IV).

Both versions are pretty much identical as it would seem.

How do you tell where your opponents are from?

Damn... I can tell I'm gonna put a lot of hours into BB already. Everything about it is awesome; the art, the music (so glad GG legend Daisuke is back!), the online, the characters, their stories, and the amount of extras is astounding. The fact that it has a sound test also makes me feel the old skool love :D

Btw, anyone on PS3 tried this using remote play yet?
I was absolutely astounded this evening, when I was fiddling with the remote play settings, and found I could happily play through some of Bang's story on PSP whilst taking a comfortable dump!

Theoretically, if you had a good connection and the right firmware, you could turn on your PS3 from work, and at least have a knock about in arcade/training, or show your friends your replays... it's incredible.

If you have sticks for both, go with the system that has more friends playing. The technical differences between the two versions boils down to the HD installation for 360 and PSP Remote Play for PS3.

btw, where did all the Rachels go from a week ago or so go? I would like to play some of you. Come to the GAF chat or ask me to get an invite to the chat.

I'm still so bad at this game. Granted, I haven't been playing a lot of online lately, only a level 2 since I seem to lose every single match. I was Jin for awhile but even though I was okay with him, he just got boring after a little while. Moved onto Rachel but every online game I played was against Bang who I'm horrible against. Luckily my friends enjoy playing the game so I'm mainly offline and can do pretty decent.

I think my main problem is stringing together a combo in the midst of a battle. I can pull them off in the training mode, it's just once the game starts, I can't hit. :lol

How to win against Bang: Bait drive and throw.

Rachel is one of the more technical characters so it will take time to start winning with her, but once you get good with her you'll be a problem online. If you want easy wins just pick jin and ice car>>> spam fierce rinse and repeat just throw in a throw every once in awhile and you will be level 30 in no time.

Played this for the first time in a couple of weeks, after getting Carl looped to death.

Saw why grifter is good. Hakumen takes a lot of work against any keepout char- one reason why I think my win % is about 10% lower then what I usually have in games.

The KOF playing did cause one change- I'm a lot more patient now then I was earlier. Helped against flowcharters.

Thanks for the games Grifter.

Your definition of practice seems a bit on the cruel side. :lol

Now, where do I begin?

I thought I was messing enough stuff up to have plenty of openings. =)

What can I tell you? You left after 4 games. Nobody can learn anything in 4 games. Stuff I noticed (note I'm still way prone to noobie play so I don't have the best solutions):

- Need to tech more. I saw the combo meter going gray a lot, which means it's not a true combo and you could've teched and some point. If you dunno when, try piano'ing at the keys or mashing or something. Just stop the mash when you do your flip.
- Learn those strings. You'd set up and hit me like 3 times and I'm free. This is a game where you MUST punish when you get your chance and for long string characters like Bang, you need to master those B&Bs in training mode.

I just played an L28 Jin that really had no backup plan after I punished a couple ice cars! He just retreated until more ice car time.

Didn't help against my charts lolz!!

Just my opinion so far as a beginner, but the this game was not made for close ranged characters. Constantly chasing the top 3 is so frustrating.

Yeah this game isn't made for them. I'm pretty sure the October patch will fix some things though, whenever it comes out. Arc knows about the balance problems of the game.

Good Lord! Who is jdub030? That was the most intense match ever. We should practice for the tournament if you are in.

lol, yeah those were some fun matches. We need to do that again. Your noel was insanely hard to play against.

Edit: Im slotted in after the break. I'm like a sub if someone doesnt show up.

Hello everyone. Im trying to get a pic of Tagers final moment during his Astral Finish landing, and this is the best I could get:

Anyone know of a better resource to find BB sprite rips? I checked out dustloop but didn't find anything like this.

Oh and anyone wanting to play some late night matches, GT: Dok Zaius

Argh this is obnoxious. I played with Noel maybe 5 times ever online, max, and now she's stuck as my Sub on my D-Code card. :(

Same here. Getting some of the more esoteric Noel chains and wierd angle for Tager's bounce combos will take a steady hand and more practice from me. Been looking at trying Ragna and GASP Carl out too.

This happened to me too.. I have Ragna as my Sub for some reason and I've literally chosen him once, and accidentally picked him a second time, and now he's my sub :lol

edit: this happened right when I started playing.

I've played a lot more Taokaka then anyone else now (besides Jin), and yet Ragna is still my sub.
