About the Noel vs. Tager matchup...

Yeah it kills Noel, BUT... there is a way. I matched againt a very good tager from the SRK forums a few days ago in a player match and the trick against him is NOT to use drive at all. Poke, poke, medium slashes, maybe a strong one and THEN you can use the drive sparringly and mixing it up because he can grab her mid-attack. Poke poke.. away... poke-poke. I brought him to his knees.... that's a lot saying for someone that had the room at 9-0 and had beaten even a level 50 guy a few good times and ever a good V-13 :lol . Felt accomplished after the win. He was annoyed to hell though, and grew frustrated. Oh and whenever he tried to pull me to do his DD attack I replied with Noel's DD.... man felt so good =P.

Anyway, I just wanted to present myself and meet some fellow Gaffers with similar taste! (PSN: Tafer)

Right now I'm trying to finish the story mode (loving it so far!). And I'll probably start some training to begin the online matching.

The only problem... I have yet to choose my primary and secondary characters. I loved GG's Dizzy and I'm looking for something like that. As far as I have seen, Dizzy is some sort of Nu + Rachel. There is a good chance I'll choose those two as primary and secondary characters. (I hope they aren't too high/low tiers but I'll love to hear your comments about this)

nu is a high tier character and i think rachel is too

but nu is easy and kinda cheap char ( imho ) and alot of players are using her

rachel in the other hand is one of the hardest characters and very hard to master

more than half of my matches online were with nu's and there were few with rachel
all nu's matches were the same bullshit and combos but the rachel ones were amazing
and every player played in a different way

so it either the easy path (nu) or the hard path ( rachel )
its all up to you

Yeah, Noel's drive just LOOKS intimidating. It's very useless when you try to start a combo with it.

Idk what that termination means, but a trick I use all the time if I start her Drive attack and don't get canceled is that I hit <-D, which makes her shoot the flame from the ground and back up. If they try to counter you, the flame is big enough that they get hit, and it stuns them long enough for you to follow it up with ->A->A->A Spring Raid. If they don't counter you, then you are safer than standing in their face. They can dash up to you during the recovery animation, but they have to do it fast and you can just counter with spring raid which is fast and covers both the ground and a jump in. Most players will just leave you alone.

Also Noel's throw cancel juggle into drive combo is a really nice tool to have. You can link it from a standing A which is very nice, and has guaranteed hits from her drive attack if you are well positioned. It's like Ryu's FADC -> Ultra.

What do you mean by this? Aren't you "stunned" during the pull? Please explain 'cause Tager is giving me the most trouble. I already figured that poking him is key but I always wear him down to where he's almost dead then he does that bullshit that pulls you from across the screen then all my work is gone.

After a good solid two weeks spent trying to get the hang of Noel (and after getting my ass handed to me the whole time), I finally caved and started playing Jin again. As much as I'd like to get away from him, his moveset is just so natural feeling. I'd like to get better at Noel, but Jin is just so much easier to use.

GGs dragon and Toku! My nutty insomnia paid off! Noticed Toku got his combos down after a few games and got much more annoying. =) Also was trying to learn some nu off of dragon.

That's interesting, in the 30 or so minutes I've been messing with the game so far I find that Noel is the most natural for me, so far anyway. But then, I haven't played online at all.

Yeah, there's definitely a bit of a "Warm up" period for me where I'm just slow when it comes to shit or I forget ending bits of combos. I never know how to start rounds with ragna either (most everything I can throw out off the bat is easily punishable besides 5c) so I try to feel my opponents out a bit :lol Couple rounds there I kept trying to catch you in a inferno divider like an idiot =X

All stories are "completed" (100%) and I've watched all the Teach Me Miss Litchi stories. Anyone have any clue how can I get the rest of the artwork?

What do you mean by this? Aren't you "stunned" during the pull? Please explain 'cause Tager is giving me the most trouble. *sigh* Can't believe I'm betraying this, but bad Tagers will start the pullin' the INSTANT they get you magnetized. Close is good right? I myself had dudes use that to make short ranged cover stuff (Jin's fucking wolfhead or Arakune's 6A) hit me before the D came out, as the pull starts when the move starts, not when it would hit (I think. Either that, or they're dashing a bit just prior).

It's the same with Spark Bolt: they have electricity, expect the bolt, usually when it's convenient for them rather than when it's inconvenient for you. For more advanced players, I'd worry more about C poke > Spark Bolt > whole nebulas of pain.

Basically a microcosm of what NOT to do with Tager: flail. If they're flailers, bait and punish, or at least waste their resources they aint got to waste.

Now, if you're talking about Magnetized Collider, just dont jump near him or get juggled/bounced. :lol
