Lovin the characters in this. So much so that I cant pick one I want to main yet. I really dig Carl's style with the puppet but he seems insanely difficult to be good with. Hakumen is also pretty bad-ass but I dislike the magatama gauge controlling his specials. They dont feel any more powerful than Ragna's (and his reach doesnt seem any better) so I'm unsure why this particular mechanic was included.

Jin and Ragna are both fun but more straightforward than I would like. I wanna be crazy! I just gotta find someone crazy I can actually be good with!

i started with Taokaka on the 360 and kinda stuck with her. she reminds me of playing Blanka but faster. and she's so weird and cute at the same time. i only beat a few dudes. the rest seem like they've been playing a lot. kinda tough playing online matches, lol.

i will join you GAF dudes soon. i need to practice with the other characters.

Well... I like him a lot, I'm terrible at doing combos with him though and I'm not really ready to sit down and start memorizing **** lol

But I like him a lot and I love his drive attack. I can't really say too much since I *gasp* still haven't played online yet. TBH I'm a little scared of getting my ass handed to me. :lol Guess I need to find someone that sucks more than me and just waiiiiil on them :p

Also, about beating arcade mode, somehow what took me 1hour 30 minutes to do last night I did in 3 tries today... I feel that this bares repeating,

Does anyone know if there are special battles in Arcade for fulfilling certain conditions (not losing a round, using a certain number of Distortion/Astral Finishes, etc.)?

yea, takes off a lil too much. i watched a few matches where some Hakumen players just spam the same two normal attacks and they win. they take off tremendaous amount of life.

I just get the feeling that all characters in this game are really powerful :lol

Not calling it broken or unbalanced or anything, but I think the difference between players will be massive in this, much bigger than say SF4.

I think Hakumen is lower tier too, but insanely strong.

It's because they don't have the tools to get in on the top tier very well. Nu especially.

The reason Hakumens seem to spam normals is because the specials require meter. It takes 3 bars (of 8) to use the powerful specials. Supers take 4 bars.

There's an 8 bar move that gives you unlimited specials for 10 secs, but you have to get 8 bars.

Well I just turned my xbox on if you're still on, also I kept wondering why the color for the fighters I pick kept going to black in arcade mode without me selecting a color. It just donned on me that it makes use the "color" section of your personal profile to pre-assign you're characters color, AWESOME!

yea, i played against two Tager pros. they fuckin owned me.

I finally decided to play some online today for the first time started out 4-2 then i met some Rachel player who owned the shit outta me :lol Fun times though it's easy to see why Rachel is so high tier her setups are nasty.

on the 360, people kept choosing Noel, Jin, Ragna, Tager and Hakumen.

It was on the 360 version the guy was too good to be only a level 2 though, maybe he played in the arcades or something.

- No good anti-air, people can get a free jump-in on him any day of the week, unless he's psychic and uses 623C or 2C

- after Sledge (236A/B) he can hit the 360... but you can break it, so against good players he has to go for regular combos instead of comboing into the 360

- He can't air dash or double jump or dash forward... so if you're a zoning character (Rachel, v-13, Arakune) you own the guy for free because he can't move forward.

- His sprite is big and wide, making it easier to hit combos on him, even if he is heavier.

I'm at around level 29 using Tager only right now, but my win % is around 44%... I lose more often than not, and a lot of people will see the profile card, assume I'm using Tager and counterpick to Arakune or v-13. Shit, I had a TAGER player match up with me and he bitched out and chose Arakune. :/

The guy is GOOD and a FUN character, but he's not hard to beat if you have good zoning skills.

I agree with Tager being fun as hell to play with even though i was just playing through his story mode it felt so satisfying snatching someone with his 360 grab, and watching it take 50% of their bar:lol

You probably already know this, but before you select a character you can hit start to select their color.

Yeah, I just thought it was cool that it pre-picks a color (in arcade mode at least) based on the colors you selected in your profile (as far as I can tell)

I wonder if they have a way to tell between lost connections vs ragequits or w/e. Me and prototype something (sry, not looking at your username now), just lagged out of battle and lost connection after the first round, but I'm not sure what they count that as. I just don't want lag causing me to go red and people to not fight me :(

I think games are usually strict with that stuff, as in any connection lost would count against you, well at least from what I remember in Halo 3 a while back. Damn dorms.

Most of my fights have been near lagless for the most part, guess it's just a little annoying if some unlucky stuff happens.

I really wish the ranking system dispensed points based on the level of the opponent you face + damage inflicted during match. Fucking blows to face LVL30 opponents and only get two fucking points for being ass raped.

Just played for like 4 hours straight...Game is awesome even though i don't really know what the hell I'm doing yet. I came out with a postive win/loss ratio though.

All you guys using numbers and shit for saying how to do moves make no sense to me.

I gotta say; the only thing I'm digging about this game are the options and netcode.

The game itself is seriously not my cup of tea and after just giving away a bunch of free perfects to an obnoxious ass Arakune player against my Tager; WTF guys? Seriously. It's like a god damn bullet hell shmup there's so much bullshit on the screen. How in the hell am I supposed to counter that bullshit and close the distance to punish?

I'm open to suggestions.

Or is the answer - don't use Tager against Arakune? :|
