I'm obsessed with half sword, the damage system is something else.
It feels like a more gruesome 1vs1 exanima in the way characters move and controls.

I wanted to open a topic but i'm just gonna post something here for people who are unaware of the game
(you can use a controller steam community layout to play with a controller instead of m and k, it is what i'm doing right now)
The game is not even out in early access but you can play the demo and the betatest both free on stram.

This thing is gonna be incredible when they are gonna add multyplayer and the rest of the single player.

Played and completed this over the weekend. Enjoyed it. The villain is the weakest part of the game IMO. Really enjoyed the setting and a couple of the characters are well-written. Tried my best to get Paul Kaye's character killed and succeeded. The series has become one of my favourites over the last few years.

What time is it?
My Deck must have updated as Conscript will not launch anymore and I’m stuck at the hospital with no internet. I should have brought my Switch instead.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Mafia 3 (and 2 and 1 for that matter) for the free 'definitive edition' updates, which in M3's case added all the old paid-DLC story missions for free, which is nice.

Never played them before, getting to play them now.

This game got a real bum deal, doesn't deserve the low metacritic score it got.

Anyone remember this game? Underrated gem for sure.

That one's the sequel, right? I remember seeing my bro playing but I never did, looked fun.

Playing COD MW2 but the new patch now has the game crashing for me. Sigh.
I'm just looking forward to the end of next week when FF7 Rebirth comes to PC and I start my 2 week vacation.

I played the shit out of Freedom Force back in the day, creating tons of completely OP heroes to use in the campaign and mess around. Definitely a gem of a game! (I only heard about the sequel much later, but in my memory it was also great).

I feel like there's currently a void for this type of game ready to be filled. A team-based isometric action/tactics game with a lot of verticality, destructibility, and chaos.

Started Gears 5 and not super into it. As I said before, I don't really love Gears games(or rail 3rd person shooters in general) but I do love shooters. Something about these games though I find not enough for me. Not enough "other stuff" I guess. No abilities, no upgrades, no exploration, no puzzles. And wtf was up with starting this game? I popped in the game for the first time and I needed to get through like 10 popups asking me to buy DLC before I could start the game, it was fucking brutal. It even does it in a deceptive way to try to trick you into buying DLC. Honestly, I almost quit the game immediately because of that, it felt really dirty.

Maifa 3 DLCs were very good imo, some varied locations, and nice stories, bought the complete edition back then on PS4, would be lovely to replay at 60fps.. perhaps one day they will patch it.

Also combat is fun and music is ace.

Mass Effect 3 (LE). Say what you will about the ending, but the game itself is pretty cool and so far a great send off.

It's also more epic and bombastic, which fits the last game of the trilogy, and it's giving closure to a lot of stuff.

It does have some light upgrading of Jack, your side robot, you need to find components around the levels to do so, nothing big but gave me a fair reason to explore.
Gears 1-3 were better tho.

Soul Reaver 1 Remaster

Pretty wild, but I’m playing this one for the first time now. Was a huge fan of SR2 and BO2, however lltp for SR1.

Liking it so far. Level design is a bit bland and confusing but compared to the later games there is certainly much more to explore.

Nier:Automata for the second time. Gotta love a game that's the antithesis of design-by-committee.

What are some Western AA/AAA games that are auteur-ified? Kingdom Come Deliverance and Last of Us Part 2 (warts and all) come to mind.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on PS5 Pro mostly. PC version gets tons of stuttering issues regardless of settings. Batman Telltale games on PS5 as there easy to get platinum games.

I started Fate/Samurai Remnant on PS5. I like the art style. I like the action gameplay. I just gotta force myself through all of the opening story bits and town scouring. I just want action.

I also started Dead Island 2. I'm clicking with it this time around. I just wish there was an easy mode or cheat codes lol. I just want to enjoy the scenery and zombie smashing haha. But I'm using Ryan, and I read that his Skill Cards to boost and regain Health upon Blocking can be OP so I will focus on that. Some badass weapons would be nice, too!

My Skills tab still has a yellow mark although I've clicked on everything there. Is that a known bug or am I missing something?

Also playing Metaphor on PS5

Yeah, finishing up all 3 DLC missions. These are some really good additions to the game. Again, damn shame this game got the bum critical reception it did.'

One adds a new chunk of world, one is a condensed Metal Gear plot with soviet nukes, and the final one I played was the cult storyline, which was ok-ish, but the final segment of it is focused on rebuilding your father figure's bar that gets destroyed at the start of the game, a nice way to bookend the story and game as a whole.

- really bad VO
- extremely terrible bland 'world'
- vegetation that pops 20 ft in front of you, ridiculous for a game where the objective is to run as fast as you can
- game play that got boring in 30 minutes.

What a terrible game, IMO.

I'll take Sonic Generations and/or Unleashed over this any day.

Game looks like one of those "look what I've made in Unreal Engine!" videos on YouTube.

The last Sonic game (Sonic x Shadow Generations) seems to be much better tho.

Being playing Fields of Mistria on the steam deck. Started a little bit woke with the whole they them situation but then I have not seen any reference about it yet, although is obvious like everyone has a thing.

Other than that it plays wonderfully, super smooth, a lot of QoL over Stardew Valley, and nice looking graphics reminiscing a little bit of those Gameboy advance Pokemon games. It's very promising.

Soul Reaver 1 Remaster

I have no sense of place. I have no idea where I am. I have no idea what I’m even doing. Yet I’m somehow moving along in this game, all while trying to dodge these asshole vampires that keep spawning and making me switch the reals to get the Soul Reaver.

What a weird ass game. Liked it much better summarized in the SR2 booklet.

Had my old PS5 with me for a couple of weeks so that I could catch up with games that I have missed over the last few years. I really enjoyed my time with Astrobot. It's not a GOTY but a super polished, solid bit of platforming. Initially didn't like Helldivers 2 at all, but warmed up to a bit after playing with friends. Still, not a huge fan. Played God of War: Ragnarok and Spiderman 2 a bit and both of them are inferior to their predecessors. I wish I had time to play GT. Overall have no qualms about selling the console.

Was a bit nostalgic for a Wipeout-type game and saw somebody mentioning Antigraviator. It's OK, but I can't get used to the janky controls. Also, played Bomb Rush Cyberfunk - probably the closest thing to JSR on modern consoles. If you are into JSR, you probably will get a kick out of this, but it doesn't really do it for me. Maybe chose the wrong time to play it.

Terminator: Resistance - Complete Edition - I was always hesitant on trying this out, but my game sharing buddy bought it so why not. Surprisingly I enjoyed the game a lot, despite some godawful writing, VA and massive amounts of jank. Yes, Robocop is better overall, but the stealth was fun, shooting mechanics are good and the overall mood of post-nuke LA is done relatively well.

Case of the Golden Idol
Bought and finished the first DLC of Case of the Golden Idol "The Spider of Lanka" over 2 sessions. Really worthwhile addition to the main game in my opinion. The art remains gorgeously ugly (I would even say slightly improved) and the cases are really involved and fun to solve, kicking everything up a notch in terms of complexity and difficulty. Looking forward to the final DLC and then digging into the sequel at some point in the future.

Metaphor: ReFantazio
Beat the boss of the second major story arc (I think) and I'm completely hooked by the calendar system and mechanics. The options for daily and nightly activities are doled out so meticulously that I've been consistently excited for each day and planning out what I want to do. Even though it has not been difficult to do everything I wanted so far, which I'd say it an impressive result for the game.

I'm enjoying it. I wouldn't say it's essential you play it, especially if you've already had your fill after Zero Dawn, Frozen Wilds, and Forbidden West. This DLC is much harder than the base game, though. One side mission was absolutely wrecking me, as the machines were so aggressive and relentless.

Finished Mass Effect 3 and, with it, a replay of the whole trilogy.

Might write a RTTP later so I'll keep this short. I've loved all games. 3 felt like the final epic battle it's supposed to be: you visit the planets of the all cool races, you get to see the end of the genophage and the quarian-geth conflict, fuck up Cerberus and put an end to the Reapers. Hell, I even liked the ending, although maybe playing the Leviathan dlc has something to do with it.

Prey 2017, there was a thread about it this week and it made me want to replay it, first thing first is that the game rocks on XSX, looks really good and smooth as a baby ass.
Secondly the game is brilliant, from the mimic fuckers that keep you on edge, to the layout of Talos, things like recycling your junk to make new junk, and many secrets laying around, like i actually got an achievement i missed last time.. finding Calvino stash.

Just finished Jedi Survivor.

Wasn't fond of all the circus acrobat sequences. Those were way overdone. More environmental puzzle platforming, less hand-eye-timing-momentum platforming, please.

Not sure what to start next.

I really enjoyed 1 and 2. Great games, just how I like them. I have Mafia 3 but am reluctant to play it, because of all the negative press. It sounded very repetitive and drawn out. I'm a little concerned about spoiling my appetite for Old Country, too.

Binary Domain on PC. So far it's fun, nice gameplay and I'm loving the characters and their dialogues.

Wanted to play something "light", I'm going to be busy with some IRL stuff for the next few weeks until KCD2 releases and I don't want to dive into any "heavy" games until then.

I'm currently playing The Thing Remastered and sadly the game has aged quite horribly. The weirdest thing are the transitions between levels. For example you can finish a level inside some underground complex and the next one starts above ground surrounded by ice with no real explanation what happened between them. The cut-scenes are also extremely primitive.

There's also way too much action in the game. The very beginning of the game suggests something different, but that's not the case. If you're not fighting countless spider-like creatures you're going against hostile humans and this involves cheap deaths if you run into someone equipped with a flamethrower or blow up a barrel by mistake. The difficulty level is all over the place - there are some levels where you're counting medkits or ammo you have left and a few levels later you're travelling as a 5-man team exterminating everything in your path.

The controls in the remaster are okay, but not being able to move when aiming in first-person view makes this feature pretty much useless since you're often going against very fast enemies and don't have a lot of time to aim. I have noticed some slowdowns when using the flamethrower, but other than that it's fine. Overall I wouldn't recommend paying full price for this game, there's a good chance you will end up disappointed even if you have fond memories involving games from the early 2000s.
