why do people in their rap cars have to make so much noise?

I've always wondered what people who blasts their music with the windows down are thinking. Do they genuinely believe people want to hear their shitty ass music?
No... I genuinely believe that I want to hear the music. You ever think that our windows are down because we don't have air conditioning? Yes, it happens. I'd love to roll around with my windows sealed up and blasting my AC, but sadly, my AC went out and I can't afford to fix it. So I have the windows down. And I love music, and I love loud music. I love the bass. I listen to metal primarily. I don't think I look cool, in fact, I know I don't. I drive a old Sonoma, that has damage from hitting a deer, I'm a 23 year old white nerd with a baby face and glasses. It is something I enjoy.

If I'm in a neighborhood, I turn it down. If I am in a parking lot, I turn it down. And generally if I am at a red light and anything I am playing might be remotely offensive to people who are sitting next to me, I turn it down.

If you're rolling down your windows so other people can listen to your music? I personally think that's dumb. Listen to your music for you, not for other people.

I couldn't care less what other people think of me and what my taste of music is. I turn down the windows when I want to enjoy the beautiful warm weather and listen to music at the same time. I have my windows down in town and on the highway, regardless if there's people outside. I do turn it down if I'm in a residential area though.

Well, unless you have invested a ton of money in upgrading your car's audio system, blasting the music on shitty stock car system only distorts the sound and make them sound horrible.

RAP CARS?!

Like others have said, it's because of the bass. I'll be in my garage blasting rock music and you'll barely hear anything outside. As soon as a rap song comes on you can hear the bass from across the street.

Because RAP / Hip-Hop / R&B is the best music unlike the horrible stuff the OP posted. If you'd drive around with that booming out of your speakers, your car would explode from shitness.

This reminds me of one time I went on a field trip for school.
I was sitting out waiting for the other people to come with my 2 friends.
I'm playing M83, Saturday's = Youth. This man pulls up, he's on the trip apparently, never seen him before. He walked up to me and says;

"I'm glad you're not playing any of that RAP CRAP."

This man has literally known me for 3 seconds and said that.
It was one of the most hilarious moments of my life.

You should've been like "Oh, you like trap rap too?!" and switched to Young Jeezy at max volume.

Hey. How's about you read what I posted earlier in the thread? Because you obviously didn't.

Then what's the problem? Why should I curb my enjoyment to that of other people on the street I will see briefly? I like listening to music loud, and I like feeling the music with my subwoofers.

What I was saying in the other post, was that if you're rolling down your windows for your enjoyment (like I do.) then fine. But if you're doing it to make yourself think, "Hey everyone needs to hear how cool my music is."? You're an idiot. When I said, "listen to your music for you, not for other people" that means for your own enjoyment. Not because you think you're the worlds greatest car DJ, and everyone needs to acknowledge you.

When we got back after the trip, my car was parked right next to his.
I got in and played Lil B as loud as I could. He gave me one stern mug as he got into his car and drove off.

i dont know any music genre that does this. never Alice in Chains. never Solange Knowles. its always someone with rap music. playing it all loud because they think the whole block wanted to hear it. Class or work early in the morning? sucks for you. newborn baby? too bad. heres more rap music!

It's the bass. Something Alice in Chains and Solange Knowles doesn't have.

Ah. Gotcha.

lol

also why do hair metal cars make so much noise?
It's all of the static discharges from the long hair.

R&B was good once upon time, sadly it seems to have lost it's way..

Perhaps I'm getting old and grumpy, but I do like silence a lot more than some random person driving around blasting random music way past midnight. (or revving car/Harley.)

Simple.
music + loud volume = exploding car
and
rap + loud volume ≠ exploding car

Thus
rap ≠ music
;)

Hahahahaha. I hope you get to fix your broken image link before you get banned.

Have you given The Weeknd a chance?
Looking at the list, The Weeknd might not be the best suggestion.

Mayer Hawthorne is probably a better candidate.

Someone in a neighboring apartment complex has taken to blasting what I think is witch house? as they leave at 5am. I'd be mad but I think I'm just scared of that person and their music.

I honestly just laugh whenever some kid is bumping rap or hip hop in his car. He thinks he so damn cool but in the real world, every single last person that hears him and sees him is downright laughing at him

I just find it hilariously entertaining.

edit. Nothing against rap, I listen to it here and there and did a ton when I was younger. Its not the music, its the silly ass wanna be in his car with his 2 paycheck sound system lol

It's never Mozart or Beethoven or some sweet orchestral composition I hear blasting out of the cars' speakers. :(

Sometimes it's impossible not to laugh. At the gas station I had the palest, skinniest and tall person pull up in this old, busted Volkswagen Polo at the gas pump next to me. Leaving the door open and pretty much sharing his taste in Dutch rap with not only the entire gas station, but also the parking lot behind it. This made me eventually laugh out loud (not louder than the music, mind you! ;D) and the kid gave me the most disgusted and threatening look. It was pretty obvious this whole experience was new to the kid.

Good times.

When you've given over your trunk to your speakers/sub, then it's fair to say you've either made a rap car or a wub wub car.

Way back in college, a friend of mine actually did that just for the Eagles. And blew one of the subwoofers playing Hotel California.

I used to blare Lady Gaga from my ride, and people finally realized how amazing she was.

I should get paid for that shit.

I'm usually a very polite person who doesn't like to intrude on other peoples' space..

..but I will blare the fuck out of some death metal when I'm driving. And I will headbang (when I'm not alone) at a stoplight because you just got to let loose sometimes.

I don't give two shits if you don't have AC. If you have to roll the window down dont play your shitty, god awful noise at a volume where everyone else is forced to listen to it. It's these same assholes who are busy with their phones in the movie theater too. Complete lack of respect for your fellow man.

OH. AND:
"They were having it installed on their car..."
