Unless they launch with an Oled model or Nintendo starts making good games again, it’s hard to envision myself buying this underpowered junk. New pc handhelds with amd’s latest apu’s will drop this year.

I can’t see 1 good reason to purchase the ergonomic nightmare, big bezel uncouth looking handheld that is the switch 2.

Well, there is one reason… If you buy one at launch and don’t update the firmware, then when it inevitably gets hacked, you’d be able to run custom firmware.

I will almost certainly buy Switch 2 but I will wait if it launches without an OLED screen. Also, original Switch games typically look sub-par on my 55" LG C3 so I am hoping, I'm praying, that Switch 2 games will finally look good on a 4K TV because that is how I would prefer to play the games, preferably with some anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, if Nintendo have finally learnt how to do both!!! I mean they've only been around 25+ years...

At some point I will definitely get it. When depends on games, price, how BC works (boost, updates, etc) and hardware details.

I also kind of want OLED and it’s a bummer they won’t have it at launch.

Going to hold off until I see some games, what are the improvements to the hardware etc.

Not a deal breaker, I’ll be disappointed if they are going to be once again archaic with features/UI.

Probably not, I was hoping for updated joycons with concave analog sticks and also expected larger buttons, not just tiny baby buttons for ants. Also just looks like a bigger Switch 1.

I don't understand why is it so hard to simply take the exact analog sticks and exact buttons from the Switch Pro Controller and put them in joycons.

With backwards compatible confirmed I'm in!
But with a current OLED Switch 1, the Switch 2 must have an OLED else that'll feel like a huge downgrade

Yes, but I doubt it will be within the first year of its release and maybe not even in the second year. These things are hard to come by in my town and money will be tight for a while also. two years is a good estimate.

Day one.
I didn’t play that much with the first one until I had to travel more often for the union side of my job.
Because of that I really enjoyed to play on the go.
Now I can’t wait to have the new one.

I just hope that older games will benefit from the new more powerfull hardware.

I dunno....

Honestly this reveal really underwhelmed my already low expectations. I enjoy playing Mario Kart with family and friends on occasion, but I don't really feel like I need another Mario Kart that's just the same thing with slightly better graphics.

It's also disappointing that there probably won't be an OLED version at launch. Like, why can't they offer it on day 1? It's not like you have to do anything other than swap out a screen. I don't really use the handheld often, but it would be nice to at least have the best screen available at launch. It's sad that people will need to wait a few years to get the OLED.

Need to see more of the launch lineup. I'm probably still going to be day 1 because why not if I'm going to eventually get it? But I'd probably want to have some assurance of a nice lineup of titles shortly after launch. But just having Mario Kart 9 at launch would be a terrible way to launch the system, IMHO.

The Switch 2 didn’t give me that “I saw it, I already love it” feeling. I need to see the games, the price, and especially how it runs on the TV since that’s my priority, I’m not really into handhelds.

Of course. Day one, I want to zoom my joycons around the living floor to control my kart.

And then as I'm zooming around I throw the shells with the other joycon.

Probably in day one but at least the launch window. I want to keep it un-updated for hopeful jailbreaking purposes. Probably sell my jailbreakable switch 1 then as well.

I need more info before I can commit to an early purchase.

Is there an OLED model? Will Switch 1 games get enhanced, Will the console docked run at a higher resolution than what we seen with Switch 1 because games looked so washed out and low res on OLED TV.

No, I have a Steam Deck and I find Nintendo exclusives mid. My game library being, ~1200 games on Steam vs 0 games on Switch.

Mario Kart 8 on the Switch will be very hard to top. With DLC it has almost 100 tracks. In my opinion, it also has the best gameplay of any MK game with the zero G and glider function.

MK9 is going to have to he very special to top MK8.

Agreed, but this was probably a decision made to keep costs down for the launch model.

Like the Switch and the Steam Deck, they'll probably be a OLED model released at a later date.

They'll have more than MK9 at launch. I'm not sure if they'll be any massive hitters like a new 3D Mario or a Zelda OOT remake because they'll probably want to stagger their big guns throughout the launch year.

Maybe? Not sure yet. If they're still pumping out switch versions of newer games, not much a push for me. My son just wants to play new mario games.
