I'm going to be playing the game in two days either way my man. Why would I want to stream a game I'm about to play? I don't want to see it all twice. At best someone could attempt to say the female character models are intentionally ugly. Only problem with that is all of the NPC models are bad. Obsidian sucks at the models. The companions models look a little better with more detail. Giatta definitely isn't ugly or mannish.

Outer Worlds was worse. not even just the females and males. everything in the game is ugly. its hard to even explain. dark and ugly.

I dunno. Edge giving it a 6, GameSpot giving it a 6, and IGN giving it a 7 might mean I actually end up liking it.

Joking aside, watching the review videos with lots of gameplay like Karak's and SkillUp's, I realized what this game reminds me of: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The bland UI, the static NPCs, the way NPCs stare through you when you're talking to them, the color saturation, the lifeless towns where people just stand in the same place... Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed KoA:R back in the day, but that game came out in February 2012.

I'm going to benefit from the fact that I haven't yet played KCD2 when I go into playing this on Game Pass but having seen KCD2 gameplay (not to mention BG3), this just looks so dated.

Most NPCs in kingdoms of amalur did actually move around and go to sleep at night.

I don’t mean that women should stay in the kitchen and raise children, but the ratio of women to men in important roles seems absurd to me, at least at the stage I'm currently at in the game. There should be some balance. Just entering the first major town is enough to see it.

I've seen jungles down there with thin eyebrows and thick eyebrows. I've seen thick eyebrows with almost nothing growing down there for months. Its genetics, doesn't make sense.

I had hairy as fuck legs and anything down there for like soon as I hit puberty, yet I couldn't grow a fucking beard until I was like 30. Makes no sense, even if you ask the doctor wtf is up with that, its just that.

On a long enough timeline, women that don't go to esthetician will all end up with hair anyway so I'm not sure where we are going with this.. on a virtual character of all things.

Good discussion. Sounds like it would be fun as a light, action-oriented RPG with some interesting exploration, but the story, the characters, the dialog, the loot, the lore, the choice/consequence, the level of reactivity - all of that falls flat somehow. That's unfortunate, since those are a big part of what I look to in RPGs (if I just want action, I'll play an action game). They are also some of the things Obsidian is known for. A lot of the feedback reminds me of how I felt about Outer Worlds, which was pretty meh.

Ralph had some issues with the combat I haven't heard others mention - constantly running into enemies a level higher than him, despite doing lots of subquests, making the game "challenging, but in a way that didn't feel right."
