Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 | Final Previews are up

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST BE WITH US

It's everything I hoped it would be with just enough tightening of the combat of the first game (which I loved).

I was very LTTP and beat it last year. Glad I caught on later and got it super cheap. Got the Gold edition as well. The wait was nothing compared to those who got this when it first came out.

Never played KD1.

I've actually never played a medieval RPG that wasnt fantasy with dragons, skeletons and traditional shit like that. Kill the monsters, clear the caves, find magic artifact X in a temple on a mountain to create a dimension door etc...

So if KD games are more realistic and grounded, what's the typical quests to do????
Quests in KCD are about million times more interesting than the traditional fantasy shit fetchquests.
Anyone who drank with Goodwin or investigated heresy or helped Johanka avoid getting punished by inquisition can concur.

So true, I had no idea what I was getting into and it was glorious.

I used to buy so many games at launch price, but these recent years barely any. KCD is 200% going to be one, no questions asked. Rare for me these days.

Part 1 had to be shipped to avoid bankrupcy.
KCD2 has been content locked for a year, entire last year was spent bugfixing and polishing.
Yep. And the cast is awesome. Some of the guys are legit fans of the game they voiced.

And it's one of those games that just feels sublime going through the woods and just traversing. I love the fast travel system as well where you do the encounters or can avoid things. The side missions and overall depth and richness of the stories is really good. It blew me away with how content rich the first game was.

I’d love to get this game, but I haven’t even finished the first one yet. I’m still over here trying to figure out how to survive the Run! quest. I've ignored that screaming bitch every time, is that were I'm going wrong?

Dude! YES! :messenger_tears_of_joy:

You can ignore her, but you shouldnt...and you only need to distract the cumans quickly...no way you can kill them at this point

So...outside of obviously different story and slightly better visuals, most of it is all the same including the tedious crafting, garbage janky melee fighting system, etc. I thought the first was just ok, like a 7'ish game. Im not day one on this. Oh yeah and the performance is probably going to suck dick. I reinstalled the first to see how well it runs nowadays and its still shit in most towns, not even maxed. I expect this to run just as bad.
Melee system is great. It's just hard and requires you place close attention and use directional attacks. you probably just suck.

I always play games on the highest difficulty, but maybe I shouldn’t for this one. Somehow, by the time I even hear her, those dudes have already surrounded me. Then it’s just sweaty palms, spinning in circles, and swinging wildly until I eat dirt.

We can run around in circles so lets agree to disagree and end up with you're an idiot. Coolio.
Why such strong need to act like a cunt?

You should not fight anyone. You should run. And you can distract the attempted rapists by whistling, that gives Theresa time to get away.
If you are playing hardcore, make sure to read tutorial pages in codex, or you will suffer not knowing the mechanics.
Make sure to learn how to gallop on the horse, it is not immediately obvious. And manage its stamina.
And once you get to Talmberg, you are still in prologue/tutorial. The open world freedom part of the game starts when you will wake up in Rattay.
And even there it pays off to follow main quests for a while, since you get access to training with cpt. Bernard, who teaches you some needed combat skills (ripose, masterstrike, combos).

Looks profoundly dull, but it'll do numbers on PC.

The director is based so I wish him and his game well.

I so badly want to watch these videos but I refuse because I’m stupidly excited for this game and need to remain unspoiled. Loved the first game because it was clearly a passion project like the original Mass Effect, jank and all. I desperately need something to wash out the stink that Veilguard left me with. Ys Felghana is fun to revisit right now but it’s not the meaty RPG I’m really itching for.

Wait, so, its ok for him to insult me but I cant? I didnt start it.
Technically, you insulted the game first, it's all logical if you think about the chain of events :lollipop_squinting:

Wow. I’m lowering the difficulty. I’ve had this game installed for years, every time I get in the medieval mood, I launch it, die several times, and rage-quit for months before giving it another shot.

It's really worth the time. There's a lot of good guides/tips now. You can really focus on finishing the prologue ASAP to get to the open game and go from there, or there's also ways to be OP right from the start. But as a first playthrough, peoples should just focus on always running away from fights and escape to finish the prologue.

The best way to play the game is to get in the headspace of being a medieval peasant. You are an untrained blacksmith’s son with no martial skills. You haven’t a chance against armed soldiers at the start, so you should act accordingly. You have to take your training seriously, so practicing is everything.

Whether folks find this fun or not varies between individuals, but I found the attempt at simulation very refreshing. It also lends itself to feeling incredibly rewarding because you start off so pathetic, and through perseverance, you will become strong enough to take on multiple enemies at once if you know what you’re doing.

Biggest recommendation? Use bludgeoning weapons. Everyone loves the fantasy of swords, but they don’t do shit to men in armor.

Fair enough, he could have gone without the needless "you suck" comment, just like you could have done without calling it trash in every single thread about the game. We already know you don't like it, that's fine, doesn't mean it is universally trash.

I've been approaching this game all wrong. :messenger_grinning_sweat: I dove in with my usual HNIC attitude. Since I avoid all the social media chatter about games and just play them at face value (don’t ask, it’s just more fun that way), I had no clue what I was getting myself into. Yes, even after it's been out for years. I'm only just now messing around on this platform! Too busy surviving real life in the most ridiculously stupid ways imaginable to be here. Now things are dialing down for my old ass so I got time.

You're basically just supposed to distract them momentarily so she can get away then hoof it out of there.

Previews say the game is practically bug free, on both console and PC
Yep, that was the surprising part and we are two months from release. Mind you, this is early part of the game so no guarantees there wouldn’t be bugs in later portions since it’s a large game. Still, it’s a very good sign.

I don't anymore for most new games, but for this, Rebirth and Stalker 2, I couldnt resist :messenger_tears_of_joy:

But that's me done for a while.
Rebirth and this one for me I guess. Rebirth was like $40 on GMG and I couldn’t resist despite being sure that port is not going to turn out as well as we like since it’s SET game , lol.

But that’s it for pre-orders for the year!

Any chance this runs a solid 60fps on the pro?!
I haven’t seen any footage in towns but it looks pretty good so far.
