So its 2 lands. So its open map in a way with 1 ok sized and one large. It doesn't have a ton of activities that don't center around Henry specifically(themed for him or that fit within what he is forced to do for some reason then can be done freely) but the ones that are there are deep.
The main overall theme is that its reactive to you and the activities that are there are somewhat deep but also have results that reward you very noticeably for engaging in them.

Its funny because I was just watching a ton of Medieval documentaries and thought to myself I wish there was a game that took place during that time period where it was dark, gritty and you got to live the day-to-day life of one of their soldiers and then this comes out of nowhere. Never played the first, although I heard of it, but this looks great and seems to be a great Pro enhanced game which I also own. FUCK IT, LETS RIDE.

I also grabbed the gold edition which I guess will include some DLC? I mean, again, fuck it, right?

Get excited. KCD1 is the most immersive game I have ever played. By all accounts, KCD2 is an incredibly polished and enhanced version of KCD1. You'll find yourself playing for 10hrs and realize you haven't really accomplished much. The world just sucks you in. It's an incredibly unique experience

I see the first game is 75% off on PSN and I was checking it out last week but it wasn't on sale and there was no way I was paying full price for it. Maybe ill jump into that and by the time I finish the game will sort out a few of the bugs lol. Love your stuff, keep doing you.

I'm on a playthrough of KCD 1 as of now and wanting to finish it by next week. I'll think I'll wait KCD 2 out for bug fixes on top of content and DLCs they announce throughout 2025. I know KCD 2 is less buggy than KCD 1 at launch but I'm also saturated with sim-RPG for a while. Nice review btw.

Very enjoyable game regardless! I do want people to enjoy it but I admit I am a bit miffed that some I talked to this morning said they got bugs but they no longer "feel that bugs are worth reporting" in reviews unless like full crashes. Which boggles my mind. So I just wanted to throw a bit of data in. I would rather people like something for what it is than be surprised and feel like they can't understand why their game feels or reacts differently or has issues they dont see discussed.

Especially as, in games like this, the bug can not only be loss of time but resources or pure sanity due to the systems being deep enough to not be as trackable as normal games.

I haven't seen this yet and am at my work desk so can't open it. Did they beat it, get to the later area? Some hefty FPS drops there even on powerful systems and especially when you get a huge inventory and some other stuff changes.

Played the first 2h and I gotta say that it was quite the strong opener. Made a couple of short clips from one of the earlier moments in the game; there're not super spoilery, but I'll put the first one and the gif under a spoiler tag just in case.

Yeah, the "worth a buy" guy also mentioned that he once lost his new shiny armor cause the game just gave him back his old shitty armor after a quest. Such things needs to be reported and fixed asap.

Pretty alright I'd say. Ran at 60 - 70 fps with VRR on during my 2h of play (haven't reached the city though).

As for the image quality it's pretty okay, although there's texture pop-in issue and a bit of PSSR shimmering on distant vegetation when it's out of focus. The shimmering is not that distracting although the pop-in is so hopefully that gets addressed.

You should be able to see both issues in this recording I made (it's more noticeable on a big screen though).

Don't mind being recapped via YouTube but if this game has a really good story like TLOU1 for instance or Plague Tale then I'd say to people to play pt1 first. If it's just a few story beats but the main "thing" is immersion and gameplay then I really don't care to skip playing another massive game before it. (Pt1 before 2)

Also is it long to beeline the main quest? (Pt1)

Imo the story in the first one is good, but what elevates it is the writting. Felt way above the average to me specially when it comes to videogames.

It is a very important scene, and as such it is the only scene in the game with a 8k resolution, extreme camera zooms, and full body control and awareness.
Also your controller will check your heart rate and the sweatiness of your hands during the whole ordeal, and give you a homosexuality rating that is automatically send to all your contacts (cellphone not psn contacts).
Do not even try to get out of it, you already agreed to all this when singing up to psn/steam/xboxlive (should have read the user agreement better).

Now your real problem is that if you don't buy and play the game through, it will be considered a victory for woke ideology, which could tilt the balance for the next presidential election in favour of democrats, and particularly those trans army generals (like Admiral Rachel Levin ).
