I'm already out as annual sub from previous price increase, tho i have a sub till 7.26 so not on my mind, after that i will sub only when there's a bunch of games i want to 2-3 months sub. maybe if that old trick of buying gold at eneba still works i will use it, as the service itself is good.

If you just spike the price like that then you risk too much of a backlash and consumers cancelling en masse.
They're doing it right from a cold-blooded business standpoint imo.

What will really happen is that the prices that resellers charge for gift cards outside of the Microsoft Store will practically equalize. This means that prices will increase for those who buy Xbox Game Pass subscriptions through VPN here, since in India, for example, the increase will be quite high."
So it sounds like just the regional pricing of various places are increasing (perhaps due to vpn usage) and the price increase is more of a standardization. But that wouldn't get too many clicks here probably.

The price increase of these gift cards relative to standardized pricing is news without a doubt. Microsoft increasing Game Pass in its entirety next month is currently not news nor accurate (apparently).

The price of Nintendo switch online is going up by quite a bit in some South American countries in March, the rest of the world will probably follow soon. Then PSN will increase again I’m sure. This shit’s getting ridiculous.

Mine runs out in March, got a few 3month free wih my Rog Allyx and laptop, if I can use them I will if not I think il fuck it off. Its time to be honest with myself, its no longer the best deal in gaming, Xbox is no longer the most powerfull console in the world and Phil is betrayed the Xbox mandems loyalty. Come March il pick up a PS5 Pro for my gaming lair, smash my current PS5 downstairs. Any Xbox games I realy want il buy on Steam. The end of an era is near.

People have one month auto renew on and that’s what about 12,000 points currently? Easily achievable for most people.
Now if they increase it to say 15,000 points a month but the max you can get from rewards it’s just over 12,000 that changes it somewhat.

If the games review well and they deliver on a steady clip of games each year with a high quality level i will pay a little more. I've been paying the current price and have found the value.
Will have to see what it goes to. I've just bought a house and own too many games anyway so I could just cancel.

I think a lot of people don’t care if they own a bunch of 1’s and 0’s from a subscription service. If a game is good and you want to own it, not only can you still go out and buy it, you can even do so at a discount.

I’m good for another year, but I wonder if it will affect Kroger prepaid cards. I pay $50 for 3 months with a prepaid card (plus 4x fuel rewards). It’s still cheaper than having it hit my card monthly.
Maybe I should get 4 more and stack them up for another year. I don’t think it is worth more than $20 a month, especially when I don’t really play multiplayer.
