This right here is what Spencer didn’t understood when he took over in 2014. Look at this guy: decades in an ecosystem with digital copies and now he has switched sides like an Italian in a war. If he had started delivering good games for more than a decade people wouldn’t be as locked to the ecosystem as suits think. Make the games and people will come. Specially with how Sony has dropped the ball lately. With 11 years of preparation it would have been a massacre. But he choose to be Netflix. Good luck.

I more or less did the same. I was into Xbox and Xbox 360 wayyyy more than PS2 and PS3( weirdly enough Ps2 was my least played console as I also had a Gamecube). Microsoft pretty much lost me as a hardcore fan with the XB1 and even though I eventually got 1X and a Series X, both were sold within like a year because increasingly their place in my gaming setup seemed superfluous.
PS4( now 5) and Switch have more than handled my needs on the console side, plus I got into PC gaming in 2015. Even when it comes to digital, 95% of my Xbox account are 360 games I acquired 'free' with Live gold, so I'm not that tied to the ecosystem where I can't dip in and out as I choose. I have way, way more tied up in PSN money-wise which, as they wanted, keeps me in the ecosystem unless I choose to walk away from all the money spent and I'm inclined not to do so.

I could see it being a flop but not the biggest. Looking at the leaked images, there doesn't appear to be any product differentiation in design at all. It simply looks like a bigger switch. The joycon design seems extremely similar barring that additional trigger at the back which no one can see. To me its way too safe in design and they should have made it visibly different to the switch og. It's easy for people to confuse the two devices. Hopefully they just call it the switch 2 to avoid any naming confusions.

Mario Kart 8, Mario Party Jamboree, Animal Crossing, Splatoon 3 and everything else in this house. There is constant fighting who has their turn with the Switch for my 2 daughters. Will be the first Nintendo system I’m ever preordering. We need a second system fast.

Doubt it'll be that late. We'll most likely get the first reveal next month. There are a lot of valid leaks to suggest the reveal and release are close.
My money is a release in April or May 2025.

The rumoured launch window games are 3D Mario. Metroid Prime 4 cross gen at launch in March. Breath of the Wild Remastered in May and then Mario Kart 9 in June / July.
People will moan but they only have so much time / money to spend in the first six months of a Spring released console.

I figured closer to Sept-Nov. And also I figured they'd want Metroid Prime 4 as a launch title and no chance that's coming out in March. They'd likely want some killer release to get at launch and as of now there are not on the docket for March.

Odd take. The goal isn’t to sell out, they want it available to anyone and everyone that wants one. Not to mention, retailers hate sell-outs. Customers don’t benefit from them. They benefit no one, not even Nintendo.
I agree with the idea that this will be the shortest gap they’ve ever had in terms of reveal to release. But I very much doubt it’s only 8 weeks. That’s hardly enough time. 90 days would be the perfect sweet spot.

Nintendo are pissing themselves. They will announce in Spring and release next year probably after milking all the parents for another xmas. They probably haven’t even designed the fucking thing yet.
