Alsothey do not want to cannibalize Switch 1 sales this holydays, they want to milk that cow to the last day
they will delay it to ruin the leaker reputation
This right here is what Spencer didn’t understood when he took over in 2014. Look at this guy: decades in an ecosystem with digital copies and now he has switched sides like an Italian in a war. If he had started delivering good games for more than a decade people wouldn’t be as locked to the ecosystem as suits think. Make the games and people will come. Specially with how Sony has dropped the ball lately. With 11 years of preparation it would have been a massacre. But he choose to be Netflix. Good luck. Can't wait. Been an Xbox/Nintendo gamer for decades, and now that I just dumped Xbox, for the PS5 (Wow. Much better experience. Turning crossplay off on COD has been an amazing experience. ) Bring on the switch 2.
I more or less did the same. I was into Xbox and Xbox 360 wayyyy more than PS2 and PS3( weirdly enough Ps2 was my least played console as I also had a Gamecube). Microsoft pretty much lost me as a hardcore fan with the XB1 and even though I eventually got 1X and a Series X, both were sold within like a year because increasingly their place in my gaming setup seemed superfluous. This right here is what Spencer didn’t understood when he took over in 2014. This will be the biggest flop in hardware history.
What makes you say that? This will be the biggest flop in hardware history.

Nintendo is forever cowards for not revealing it before the holiday season. What's the matter Nintendo afraid of hurting your holiday sales? Shame forever
I could see it being a flop but not the biggest. Looking at the leaked images, there doesn't appear to be any product differentiation in design at all. It simply looks like a bigger switch. The joycon design seems extremely similar barring that additional trigger at the back which no one can see. To me its way too safe in design and they should have made it visibly different to the switch og. It's easy for people to confuse the two devices. Hopefully they just call it the switch 2 to avoid any naming confusions. This will be the biggest flop in hardware history.

If they don’t have Wind Waker HD ready I’m gonna lose it.I do wonder how many games they already have ready for this system. Prob at least 5-6 already in the fridge just waiting to be put in the microwave.
EDIT: Jan8 is Wed, which is a day Nintendo likes to announce things.
even if they do, it won't come out on lunch year.If they don’t have Wind Waker HD ready I’m gonna lose it.
We don't know.Do we know if Switch 2 games will also be developed for Switch 1? What is Nintendo’s stance on this?
I see a OOT remaster coming. If they don’t have Wind Waker HD ready I’m gonna lose it.
A proper remake would set the internet ablaze.I see a OOT remaster coming.
Hope
I bet the release will be closer to March 2026 than March 2025, especially since the Switch 2 hasn't even received an official announcement yet.
The rumoured launch window games are 3D Mario. Metroid Prime 4 cross gen at launch in March. Breath of the Wild Remastered in May and then Mario Kart 9 in June / July.I do wonder how many games they already have ready for this system. The marginal benefit to Switch 2 from a longer announcement-to-launch period (new consoles always sell out) gets trumped by the Osborne damage to Switch 1 sales.Osborne effect - Wikipedia

They don't have to.Doesn't look like tomorrow will be the day considering they haven't mentioned anything is coming up.

It's already late January and Nintendo still hasn't given any hints about the reveal of the Switch's successor.

Odd take. The goal isn’t to sell out, they want it available to anyone and everyone that wants one. Not to mention, retailers hate sell-outs. Customers don’t benefit from them. They benefit no one, not even Nintendo. Most consoles usually are sold out in the first months of release, so announcing 2 months or 2 years wouldn't make much difference.
