Next gen, if a console manufacturer goes with AMD, the other should go with Nvidia, the one with the deeper pockets. It's getting ridiculous how good Nvidia is getting at AI.

I mean, I guess it’s true that the Switch 2 will have more advanced upscaling than the PS5 or Xbox thanks to the Nvidia hardware. It remains to be seen how it’ll be implemented, though. DLSS and upscaling isn’t free, and the existing higher quality DLSS modes come at a significant frame time cost.

It’s still best to keep hopes in check. The tech may be more advanced than other consoles, but the implementation could be severely limited to keep TDP down.

i must have missed that they are using "dlss". i saw in the patent the other day which made it seem like they were building their own, obviously using nvidia hardware

The enhanced DLSS upscaler has even less latency than previous CNN model of DLSS. It gets better performances.

Even TURING will benefit from this

No need for new hardware, no new tensor cores. It's the trained model that has changed.

Yea i don't expect much from you guys and tech knowledge, really not much, like a tiny little spoon, that's what you don't get. The training MODEL has changed. It runs on ALL RTX tensor cores, all the way back to Turing, and performs better with lower ms of rendering.

Even the most Nintendo guys at the Install Base forum have settled for a decent upgrade for the Switch 2.

It seems that there are still some that will be very disappointed when this thing launches

I'm fine with this since 1080P is what I'll always use.

I just hope they'll have a big budget dark fantasy Zelda like Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time again or that WII U tech demo style. Or else I'm skipping on the Nintendo console yet again.

What’s so hard for you to understand that a 2013 piece of hardware is going to look like dogshit and will not have the headroom to implement DLSS equally as a 2025 $2000 gpu?

You’re the same guy that said 8nm wasn’t confirmed. So much for your “tech knowledge”. Derp

I mean... it's not going to suddenly make it compete with the Series S, but as long as the performance stays at a consistent 60fps for a vast majority of games, that's good enough.

The upscaling does not need 2025 $2000 GPU. I'm not talking about Multi frame generation, DLSS frame generation, the DLSS Super resolution.

DLSS upscaling is DLSS upscaling, it does not NEED the Blackwell architecture

A 2060 will run it. All RTX models will run it. The training model, you know, on Nvidia supercomputers at their office, is what changed. It's still using the same tensor cores that allowed any RTX cards to have DLSS.

You do understand we have NVN leaks that state it has DLSS right?

This new DLSS model has less latency, will have a huge impact on RTX GPUs with low ressources, such as the 2050 that DF analysed. Those ms reductions will benefit those chipsets a lot more than the big flagships.

I said it’s not equally performant. AI up scaling is heavily dependent on adequate internal resolutions, and a console using 12 year old hardware performance or worse is going to have very poor internal resolutions resulting in AI up scaling not looking anywhere near as good as more modern hardware

Even the old ass DLSS was leagues better than FSR for low resolution



You see those details in OP from new model? You can live with a lot lower base resolution and still end up better than FSR
