so now with dlss4 preset k, is the advice to set ingame DLSS to balanced now? Previously I always set it to quality
Some people say DLSS Performance is good enough with DLSS4, not many artifacts.so now with dlss4 preset k, is the advice to set ingame DLSS to balanced now? Previously I always set it to quality
try it out on your end and compare it on your screen. Sometimes seeing things in motion exposes things you won't catch in still images or on YouTube. It does seem like balanced is greatly improved. I just never touch the setting since I just would rather go for the higher fidelityso now with dlss4 preset k, is the advice to set ingame DLSS to balanced now? Previously I always set it to quality
1440p dlss performance easily clears the old 1440p dlss quality for meA bit of an abstract question, but what kind of DLSS preset would you compare PSSR to, specifically in a game like FF7 Rebirth?
I haven’t got the faintest idea as I don’t have Rebirth on my Pro, so comparing is difficult. Plus, all those shimmering issues seem to have been resolved for the most part, so even DF’s old videos are kind of useless to compare.A bit of an abstract question, but what kind of DLSS preset would you compare PSSR to, specifically in a game like FF7 Rebirth?
If the game is very demanding and I want to maximise all possible frames I go with performance.so now with dlss4 preset k, is the advice to set ingame DLSS to balanced now? Previously I always set it to quality
It really is crazy how good this is. Been playing around with some other games. Currently Indy and suddenly I can play it with path-tracing + everything maxed out with DLSS performance+ frame gen and it looks great even in motion. It really didn't come close to this before. I'm kind of reconsidering upgrading GPU this gen now

Tested it in Witcher 3 remastered last night and it didn't seem to be the case at all for me. There were still noticeable annoying artefacts and shimmering when using DLSS Performance at 4K. I had to put it back on Balanced. Some people say DLSS Performance is good enough with DLSS4, not many artifacts.
I wish it had come sooner. A couple of hard hitting games like that I wish I would have played with better performances. Wukong & Indiana,.
I kind of gave up half way in cyberpunk 2077 a while ago so that's one to revisit soon with the DLC as well.
If it performs good, why upgrade, especially with the GPU prices now. My 3080 Ti might last a while longer. Very happy they didn't lock this tech to Blackwell.
4080 running at 4k with Frame gen. What GPU do you have?
The games I wanted to upgrade for were these path tracing titles as well. Moving to 4k really upped the requirements. I tried Indy before and it looks nice without path-tracing but I mentally left it for later.
With the prices and difficulties with availability and with DLSS Performance looking so good I have a bit of a hard time motivating an upgrade.
4080 running at 4k with Frame gen.
Im still quite early but getting like 75 - 110 FPS after the first zone in the jungle which was a bit heavier. Also drops a bit in some cutscenes, but I can live with it. Feels good enough for me in such a heavy game. I have noticed some situational artifacts, maybe due to frame gen at a bit low base fps, but very much a big upgrade from what I saw before DLSS4 for sure in terms of how clean the image is.
Also in FFVII Rebirth I noticed a much improved image since upgrading DLSS version. But there I run Quality.
It already supports DLSS4. It was among the games mentioned in the last patch along with Spider-Man 2 and Cyberpunk.Hopefully we get an official patch for kc2 aswell.
I don't think i saw the option ingame to change the dlss model from cnn to autobots. It already supports DLSS4. It was among the games mentioned in the last patch along with Spider-Man 2 and Cyberpunk.
So I guess this means 4070 is viable for 1440p with path tracing and DLSS4 Performance (720p native res upscaled to 1440p)...4080 running at 4k with Frame gen.
I think it might have just shipped with DLSS4 considering it was released after. I don’t recall there being a setting to switch between Transformer and CNN in Spider-Man 2, but I’m not 100% sure.I don't think i saw the option ingame to change the dlss model from cnn to autobots.
Unless they released new nvidia drivers for the game.
Wait, so i'm already playing with the transformer model and you can't chose the cnn?I think it might have just shipped with DLSS4 considering it was released after. I don’t recall there being a setting to switch between Transformer and CNN in Spider-Man 2, but I’m not 100% sure.
Cyberpunk used to have DLSS3, so they just added the toggle.
For the most part, yes. You're not going to run into VRAM issues at that res. And from a few videos I've seen that have tested; a 4070 with DLSS 4 is totally viable. Even without framegen. So I guess this means 4070 is viable for 1440p with path tracing and DLSS4 Performance (720p native res upscaled to 1440p)...
I don't mind framegen (as long as it doesn't produce many artifacts) and with nVidia Reflex the input lag should be better than a console. For the most part, yes. I did a few tests after the latest Cyberpunk update. DLSS FG version 2.0 is much better than I thought. I used to see an extra 9-12ms input lag with FGx2 in Cyberpunk, but now it's only 1-4ms.I don't mind framegen (as long as it doesn't produce many artifacts) and with nVidia Reflex the input lag should be better than a console.
