Only thing holding me back so far, the combat system looks horrible but the rest looks amazing

It’s not really horrible once you get a hang of it. Keep in mind though they are trying to have at least somewhat realistic system so fighting multiple opponents is going to be kind of shit until high skill levels and good plate armor.
Edit: Also this thread is triggering my FOMO and I am super tempted to “pause” the games I am currently playing.
Except I know myself and that the pause will be like 3 months. Ronin will hit in the meanwhile so I won’t finish Rebirth for a long time…

I get it, it's just odd since there were a couple reviews that mentioned walking around in stolen clothes and people noticed, as well as shopkeepers and ratted him out lol

Well you can get searched for stolen goods in the first game but so far nothing like that has happened. People have told me to move on when they see me around their homes at night.
I have had someone rat me out for trying to break in to a home I ran off but was caught which resulted in a fine.

Yesss, its shame its still capped. Im bad and bought first one and still in backlog cuz of fps. Was hoping they would patch... but with 2 out now highly doubt its gonna happen.Just like the first game.. first thing i will do if possible is to pick flowers for 2 hours.
Btw if someone at WH reads this, i own KCD on PS and will pay 10 bucks for simple 60fps patch, do it!

Oh wow. I am able to run the game maxed out at 4k dlss quality 60 fps on my 3080 all settings on ultra. Game defaulted me to DLSS performance which was utilizing around 80% so i figured i might be able to go to dlss balanced but even dlss quality is a locked 60 fps in the open world.
I will try DLSS 3.10 and see if it makes an improvement but im pretty good with the IQ with dlss quality.

So I have a 4070ti. I Just changed. On the Nvidia app > KCD2 options > DLSS overide- model presets> change from Default to Model J ? Then DLSS overide- Super resolution change from default to DLAA ?
This will sort of brute force DLSS4 giving me more frames? Already getting 70-100 but more the merrier.

This game can really bring the psycho out in me. Killing regular people as their sleeping, or better yet, knocking people out and then slaughtering them is brutal. The only other franchise that made me feel that way was Manhunt

I had planed if I do play this to go with ps5 pro version but as a 3080 owner I figured this game would run like junk unless I changed to 1440P , balanced, nerf shadows etc.
All ultra on a 3080 at 4k with dlss quality to hold 60fps though? That’s a dream come true for a game this good looking…

I dread dying. I died twice fighting dogs. Changed my play style, stole a horse, and then died at some dogs again. Said screw it, went around the castle, murdered a guy who had a green tunic on, made the wrong choice and gave the guy who saw me, all the stuff I worked hard to steal.Yup, just as I feared...I'm just not feeling it at the moment. It's beautiful, the music is outstanding, the writing is well done, but it really, really is just more KCD (which is fine) and Im just not in the mode for a mega deep knight sim with all of the responsibility and mechanics. Hopefully Ill come back to it in the future after it's been ironed out some more. And I dont regret one bit giving WH my cash!

When it works, it works, and when it doesn’t.. it feels like it takes forever getting the stride back. They aren’t making me want to be the good guy with the game’s limitations for saving progress.

God, why can't we have something like this but in third person? Would have bought it in an instant. I do love that the game didn't have an early access charge and that it's $60 on PC instead of $70. I am tempted to reward the dev either way. Maybe someone will release a 3rd person mod.

combat is already janky that a third person mod I imagine would make the combat far worse.
I too would prefer this with a more robust third person combat approach. Games like this or chivalry 2 always feel like dog shit to play. Games like Skyrim feel a bit better because of magic and the more arcade approach to combat.
For me I’m currently in a hover mode on this title but with the weekend coming I think I may pick it up on PC for the sole reason of mods fixing issues like the save system or tedious crap like hunger.

Got to say, I usually play RPGs with subtitles, reading is much faster than they can speak and I constantly skip ahead. With KCD2 I've had subs off from the start, enjoying hearing every conversation play out and adds to the immersion, it's just that good.
Also, does anyone know where I can find a wench to tug on my pizzle?

Same. I can’t even find any side quests outside of the preorder one. The beggar girl told me about a building to get armour from, which I thought would pin a quest or location. Tried getting her to tell me again but she wouldn’t give it. Just told me to use the lock picks she gave me. Going to have to properly engage with the game, might be a struggle.
