So what I'm gathering from reading PowerPyx's guide and some other articles is that side quests just appear on the map and you don't have to actively seek them out by talking to every single NPC you come across? Can anyone confirm this?

I still need to play the first one. I have it on EGS for free but I'm thinking about buying it on Steam at some point if it goes on sale. Do I need the DLCs?

Yeah, I can confirm the "Hollywood" feel of the English dub. Which is why I tried out the German one and stuck with it. It doesn't happen that often that the German dub in games is that good.
Dont hesitate to give feedback if the dub remains good for the rest of the game, also if you got a chance to try the CZ one, I might have judged it too early

Checking out the discussion of this in Reset (and the steam players) marks a sizable shift in how those nut jobs view themselves.

Sure, there are some complete morons, but many… many posters seem to understand that their “boycotting” of a game and their issues with the game’s director is at odds with how the real world perceives the game.

There really does seems to have been a shift in culture over the last few months.

Ps5 pro looking good, games art direction is so good and it bleeds polish.

My only beef with this series is combat, I just don't find combat in the series at all good. But everything else is really sweet. You definitely are in the games world, alot of detail

One of the reasons I’m doing a speech/stealth focused playthrough.

This feels like a proper next-gen game btw. Fantastic production values all around, looks a treat and it runs well (at least on PC). No shitty microstutters or shader compilation.

Question on console.. one of the things most annoyed me with the first game on PS4 is that running/sprinting with horse was tide to holding circle button. Is KCD 2 have the option to run with modern hold L3 most games nowadays use? Really hopes so, thanks mates and enjoy the glorious game!

Some kind soul can check the controls?:)

Even though the game is more demanding than the first game, its much better optimized, especially on the cpu side. Not sure what was going on with the 7800x3D in the reccomended settings but i dont think i have dropped a single frame from 60fps with my 3700x in about 2 hours of play, at ultra settings too.

Also another interesting thing i noticed is that even though the game looks better than the orig game, ultra settings uses the same 7.5gb of vram as the orig game does maxed out (at 1080p). I guess they went all in with the optimization this time.

The CPU will take a hit when you get to the big city in the game. Same as the first game.

I hope everyone enjoys it. Despite my enjoyment of medieval settings both realistic and fantastic, I cannot get into games like this. I want my video games to be video gamey, not laden with the mundane physics of reality. Again, there is nothing wrong with it; my form of escapism in video games is centered on a different vibe.

I might try out the CZ one! But I can't speak Czech. So I won't really be able to say whether it's a good dub or not.

Yep seems like it’s a very impressive systems based game with lots of optionality and randomness. I know a lot of people love it. But these games aren’t for me either, the reward isn’t worth the patience that is required for my tastes. I need mechanics first games.

Here’s a good video that summarizes what it’s all about, this may let you know if it’s your kind of game

I cannot get HDR to work on the PC so after a bit searching it looks like there is no HDR option on PC.

A bit disappointing, any console users get a HDR option ?

It says in the Encyclopedia Britannica that he died in the 14th century. Isn't KCD2 set in the early 15th century?
They say it's a fictional character, inspired by Mansa Musa (and Ibn Battuta). From what i understand it's really inspired by Ibn Battuta but they made him malian instead of arab.

My ROG Ally is destroying this game, which is such a pleasant surprise to me. It’s a powerful handheld, yeah, but I was not expecting it to run a massive game like this as well it’s doing. This is a properly optimized title for sure. Great job from the devs.
Steam deck, mixture of low and medium settings with fsr quality can be locked to 40fps. Fantastic running game.

yeah lol, didn't played first one, but this starts like flirting 101
They were not friendly in the last game but towards the end needed each other I guess now they are friends!? That’s what I think they are trying to convey. That or that last woke programmer snuck it in the gold master release on way out!

Daring to do the seemingly suicidal, Warhorse offers players a Skyrim-like experience but completely mundane. The developer contrives a way (following a string of scene-setting cinematics) to make players feel truly alone, penniless, and underpowered all over again. There are no difficulty settings here; before you get a faithful hound beside you, a noble steed beneath you, and a stable roof over your head, life is hard, eked out by the hour, and you must spend every waking moment moving forward.

YouTuber ESO loves Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 so much that he said it’s his favourite game ever. He said it absolutely beats Skyrim too, in a immersion way. He says you can pretty much interact with anything.

I wonder if that first part is just hype speaking, you know, you just played a brand new game, it does a lot of good things and you’re blown away by it. So does he genuinely think it’s the best ever? We’ll see i guess. But sheesh, that’s high praise.

I probably should start playing the first one sooner rather than later so that I can experience this game as well.

First one was already way superior than Skyrim in terms of immersion, writing and sense of place, so that does not surprise me

yeah it feels more like writing issue, they probably went for friendly but comes across as
"you feel awkward around your crush, and trying to hide it by cracking a joke at every sentence" lol
its just the beginning though, might differ later.

Is that largely what this game revolves around in gameplay? Immersion? I want the check it out, but most videos I'm seeing of gameplay are walking around and a LOT of cutscenes. I'm not sure if I could enjoy that long enough to finish it. Alternatively, BG3 didn't look interesting to me either and that ended up being my 2023 GOTY. So there's some FOMO here. The immersion side looks genuinely amazing.

Don't feel bad. Diablo 4 has HDR on console and it is the worst thing ever. Basically just a layer of washed out white fog over the screen. You can't turn it off in game you have to turn it off at system level and remember to turn it back on when you quit. You also cannot turn it on or off at system level while the game is running.

Boot up game
Log in
Notice it looks like washed out shit
Thinks "Damn, forgot to turn off HDR"
Close game
Navigate to the gear
Go into video settings and turn HDR to Off
Reboot game
Play 30 minutes, quit
Watch an hour of youtube before I realize I left HDR off
Close youtube
Navigate to the gear
Go into video settings and turn HDR to On
Reopen youtube and continue with my night
Repeat every 24 hours

Sometimes no HDR is betta.

Don't believe it looks like shit? Do this test. Play the game at night(in game). Record with your phone AND with your playstation. Close game. Open media player, replay section you recorded earlier, record THAT with your phone too. Not watch back both videos on your phone.

Phone video of actual gameplay will look washed out
Phone video of media gallery recorded capture section will have the intended graphics(darker, richer, more detail)

It isn't the difference that is a shocker to you, it should look different, instead look at the IQ of the two videos and you will notice how washed out the HDR actually is.

Yes. But "Musa from Mali" is like it says in the text not the 14th century Mansa Musa; it's a fictional character.

I haven't put effort into this, but the issue seems to be that

1. Some people are sad enough that they're trying their best to dig up controversy, I suspect it's the anti-woke crowd in this instance, idk.
2. The text in the game (is it in the game, I don't even know) may be inaccurate since the real Musa was doing his business mainly in West Africa.

But in the end of the day I'd just put all of this under "who gives a shit?!?".

Sounds good. I really should get started with the first one. It does suck they never bothered enhancing it for either One X/Pro or PS5/Series.

Czech dub is full of people who do regular dubbing for the movies as well as play in very low budget "tv shows" local ones, so I am keeping the English one, despite being Czech. Mafia was good, due to Marek Vašut and rest of the cast, this one feels like I am accidentally local turn on tv on saturday.
